The gentleman that was working was condescending and arrogant.
This place has the best BBQ in McAlester. The sandwich had plenty of meat( what most places fail to do). The prices are reasonable, and service with a smile was really refreshing. We'll definitely be back.
Couldn't get anyone at the counter to take my order
My mom and I got here around 6:45/6:50 in the morning to pick up some live bait to fish because the reviews looked promising. My goodness, I will NEVER come here again, the customer service was disgusting, disrespectful, and disappointing. There was a lady at the counter with dark long hair, when she asked what we wanted we were both smiling and my mom said “crappy please” and the lady said “how much” and my mom replied “two dozen” this lady shook her head and rolled her eyes at which point I apologized (not sure for what but I felt like we may have done something wrong since she was shaking her head & rolled her eyes) and told her it’s our first time in this shop & the lady bluntly told us $9 and some change. The lady walked off and told a gentleman at the end of the counter to have a great day at which point my mom laid the $20 bill down and started walking down to where the bait was/where she had walked to. When the lady turned back around to the register my mom did too, and mom had her hand out to receive the change to which the lady ignored and dropped the cash and change on the counter. This time we both followed her to the end of the counter near the bait area, mind you she hadn’t said a word since telling us how much for the bait. She went into the back room with the door shut and came out about a minute later with the bait and poured it into the bucket, both my mom and I said thank you with smiles on our faces and she just turned around and walked back into the room. I closed the top and my mom and I were about to pick up the bucket and walk out when she came back from the room and said “you don’t want more water?” With an attitude, I then said “oh sure!” and once again said it’s our first time here. She poured the water in and turned around, walked away back to the register and happily greeted the man that was waiting for her in a completely different tone of voice and way of talking to him. I truly don’t understand what happened or why she treated us this way. You never know what people are going through, but this is her job. And the fact that she was communicating perfectly happily, kind and respectful to the man before us and the man after us, but was so blatantly rude to my mom and I had me baffled and quite frankly, a bit upset. Especially after we both were overcompensating our kindness to try and get just a drop of decency out of her and we still didn’t- we will never be back. I literally walked in and said “oh yeah, in the reviews this is one of the best bbq places around here” I don’t care anymore. If she is any representation of what women specifically are treated like here than I’m obviously not welcomed and not going to subject myself to that. Our fishing buddy’s we met up with were shocked to hear about this, and said “well I guess we’ll be spending our money elsewhere too” and I will continue to let our friends and family know not to stop here. Drive somewhere further away, it’s simply worth it.
Really great bbq spot. Their ribs are amazing, some of the best I’ve had.
Most of the time the service was great but I had a completely disrespectful interaction with a dark skinned woman in glasses at the register. Will not shop here again. Spent over 100 the last week there and it will go somewhere else for now on. 👍🤳
Great little spot at the end of town. Part BBq and part bait shop. Glad I stopped in. BBQ with many other options. I had the 2 Meat combo. The highlight was the macaroni and cheese. Good portion too. Will definitely be back. Oh and the Nanner Pudin did not disappoint either. 😎
Last visit to this business was in june. Somehow almost a month later, I get notifications while on a cruise that they are charging my car for the same amount as the last visit in June they had already been paid for. Now every morning I get a notification where they are trying run my card. I have spoken to a guy at the store via phone several times and he says nothing they can do and owner of coarse.is out of the country or something like that. Nobody seems to know anything about this place of business but I wont ever stop there again. I have had to cancel card.twice but it is somehow still happening thru Google pay. And of coarse I cant speak to anyone there either. Such a pain that this business somehow hacked my shit
The place is small. But the food is amazing. This really is the definition of tender meat. That brisket so tender. You don't have to have teeth to eat that beef. The bark is perfect. The ribs are just right with a little bite to get off the bone. The smoked loaded Mac and Cheese with bacon.... This place needs to blow up. Don't sleep on this one. Get some food. Get these people some money so they can get a bigger place in a location closer to traffic. They deserve this kind of recognition.

We ate there in the past and was very good. No longer the case. Skip it! There is better BBQ on down the road.
Great one stop place, close to the lake
Price gouging is illegal! They are charging $3.49 a gallon, when it’s $2.49-$2.51 EVERYWHERE else in town and in surrounding areas! We will NEVER shop there and will never eat there!!! They should ashamed and i hope they are fined!!!
The people are so polite, and now let me tell you about the BBQ. It's amazing!! For anyone near the lake that wants great food, this is the place to go.
Great BBQ and good prices
