Booked a table for 9 people online and chose dining room (have the screenshot to prove it) and they switched it to the high top. Got to the restaurant and they refused to fix the issue, and they suggested we go somewhere else. It being dinner time on a Saturday evening, we chose to keep the reservation, trying to make sure a 3 year old didn’t fall off the high top chairs and holding a screaming 8 month old the whole time because they only have normal height high chairs. The food was not as good as in the past. Bolognese was extremely peppery, carbonara was bland. Lemon ricotta cake was amazing. Music was so loud my ears are still ringing. Probably won’t go back.

What a strange experience I had with Osteria trying to make a reservation for 3 tonight. Called twice & left messages asking for the reservation & for them to please call me. In between, made a reservation on Resy, but could only reserve table for 2 — so I left a note saying we wanted 3. By this time, got an email confirmation that we had a table for two (along with my note). When I showed up on time at 5:15 tonight, the maitre d’ couldn’t locate any reservation & said they’d been having “issues” with Resy. Eat outdoors (it’s mid-November) or have “6 minutes” to eat inside — those were the choices he gave me. About an hour later, as I was dining elsewhere with my companions, I got a call from someone at Osteria asking if I was going to show up or wanted to cancel. C’mon, gang — what’s going on at Osteria? I’ve eaten there about a dozen times dating back to the Covid period. I’ve never had this type of treatment before. Bizarre.

Everything was mid to bad. The steak was good but overly salty. Seafood ravioli was one square of ravioli for $25 and was flavorless. The chicken parm was a huge portion and very good! The seasonal strawberry cobbler was horrible- four people at our table ordered it and no one touched it because it was so bad.And I know I know most people probably get alcoholic drinks at a restaurant like this. But be warned if you get soda they charge for every refill and didn’t tell us until (2 refills later!) we got the bill.

We ate there on 11/14/2023. It was a Monday night. Rigatoni diavolo: delicious meatballs, but sauce was so spicy I could barely eat it. Unable to finish dish due to this. Carbonara: Delicious meat, but no sauce. No sauce at all. ? Why? Spaghetti cacio e pepe: utterly bland dish. We all tried it and agreed: no taste at all. Gnocchi Genovese: Good, flavorful dish. Wine - La Bastarda Pinot Grigio - good wine. No bite to it. Ambiance: Arriving cars shine their headlights in your face. No curtains on the windows. This was pretty obnoxious, but it didn't happen all that often. Service: Excellent. All in all, I'd say it just wasn't worth the considerable price. For an excellent meal, I'd recommend Patrono's instead - or the Metro on Western. Those are very good restaurants where you actually do get your money's worth.

Good food and nice atmosphere. The meatballs were great and so was the gnocchi. The staff was friendly. Drinks were good.

This was one of the very best dining experiences I've had, hands down. Every dish was exceptional, and the presentation of the food and cocktails was impressive!

I'm sad to give such a low rating to a fantastic restaurant. The food was delicious and we love the ambiance. However, the help was some of the worst I've experienced. The hostess was incredibly rude without justification - rolling her eyes at us. The food was served at the exact same time as the appetizers . There was no spacing! We couldn't enjoy the appetizers because our pasta would've been cold. This was an unfortunate dinner.

My wife and I discovered Osteria a few years ago and it quickly became one of our go-to spots for date nights. I am sad to say that the quality and execution of the food is trending downwards. We recently returned for my wife's birthday and walked away disappointed with the experience. First, the place was completely empty except for one other couple. Out of 30 open tables we were set next to the other couple, not a huge deal but a little distance from the couple would have been nice. Second, the Gnocchi and Bolognese were poorly executed compared to previous trips to Osteria. My Bolognese noodles were undercooked with that semi-crunchy consistency and the mushroom gnocchi recipe was yet again different in a less than desirable way. The cocktails were solid, kudos to the bartender. Dessert was a interesting. The Lemon Ricotta cake was delicious, the seasonal apple crumble was seasoned with heavy amounts of truffle oil(weird right?) and was inedible. To Osteria's credit, they did remove the crumble from our ticket after a discussion. 7/10 times Osteria has hit a home run for us, at one point we were using Osteria's pasta as a measuring bar for what we ate in Italy. However the last few trips have seen a drastic slump in execution. Could be the chef those nights, who knows. I'll probably give this place one more go to do me due diligence, but if it misses again that will be that.

Finally tried this place after what several years and woah this is good Italian food! My meal was so fresh and just delicious. It wasn't heavy or greasy and didn't leave me walking out feeling overly stuffed and miserable like most Italian restaurants do. I opted for the shrimp linguine i believe it was green pasta which kind of threw me off but dang it was good and i ate every last bite my plate had! The bread was okay nothing to rave about. Everyone else loved their dishes and finished them with no issues except our friend who had the pizza it's large so plan on having leftovers!I had gimlets to drink at the bar and they are delicious! Our waitress always kept checking on us and never had any problems with service! It's definitely a more relaxed atmosphere in here i had always thought it would be more of a formal vibe but way more relaxed and so many people that came in just sat at the bar rather than a tabletop. Overall this place was so good and I'd definitely have no problem coming back here again!

Osteria is Osterrible. Very disappointed in the quality of the pizza for the price. With that said the service was great, Hallie was our waitress and had no complaints. Now the food. I’m east coast Italian so pizza is my love. The pizza we received was not edible. It was undercooked (doughy) and soggy. It needed maybe 5 more min in the wood fire oven. We also got the chicken parm and I will say it was good. The chicken had great crust/flavor and the spaghetti and sauce was good not the best. I didn’t complain and make it awkward for everyone involved since we were the only people dining at the time but they had to know something was up when 90% of the pizza was not eaten, but a review is necessary.

A year ago we went to Italy, since then we are pretty picky about what Italian we eat because the food was just incredible there. Saying all that to say this... Osteria didn't disappoint. Everything we had was amazing. Started out with Coccoli, potato jackets, and fresh bread, all wonderful! I had the carbonara and bf had the braised short rib with parmesan risotto, both so good! Dessert we had a chef special coccoli with gelato and salted Carmel espresso martinis. EVERYTHING WE HAD WAS AMAZING. Shaylee was our server she was great, recommended awesome wine and took great care of us. Overall great experience we will definitely be back soon!

Great meal and wonderful service at the Nichols Hill locations. The meatballs were seasoned perfectly and sauce tasted amazing. Hubby and i both really enjoyed our food here.

Man, I love this place and am so sad about our experience tonight. We rarely get to get babysitters and go out, but we did a year ago, came here, and loved it. Today we returned and it was such a disappointment. The service was awesome and the staff was great, but we had a pizza full of nearly raw garlic (the tomato and olive confit), and another with grainy mustard (meatballs mostardo- I know, mustard in the name but it was just so much) that tasted like a sandwich. ? our poor server was so lovely, and we just tried to make the most of it, but those two pizzas were just so not good.
