The restaurant used to be a mercantile, been in same family since 1903. This is 2nd building mercantile from 1930s The food is home cooked all made from scratch. You order then it's cooked. So it will take a minute. Like cooking at home. But oh my it's worth the wait, SO SO GOOD! I highly recommend a visit to eat and learn the history of the area and enjoy some music. You won't be disappointed . We will definitely be back. It's worth the drive

From scratch home cooking. Excellent chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and yeast roll. The chocolate pie rivals my grandmother's...and that's saying something!
It now a fast food restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere, time to visit and the food is cook after you order. Good food

Home Country cooking! I took my family here for dinner. It was like stepping back in time. If you show up, be prepared to wait up to two hours for pain fried chicken, but it's worth it! This reminds me of my Grandma's cooking. I loved everything about our visit. Jincy was so warm and kind. The sweet tea was delicious as well. The pies sold out, so we didn't get to try them, but we will definitely be back!
This place should be on every American's bucket list!

Worst ever waited over an hour and still no food. I give 0 stars never again will we be back. Don’t waste your time unless you want to be here over an hour. Horrible.
