Visiting from Texas. My husband got the sliced brisket plate and I got the fried catfish plate. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. They were very busy, but got our food to us very promptly. A man (I’m assuming the owner/mgr?) and a woman (maybe his wife?) checked on us, asked how everything was. Our waitress we had was also very sweet!! Very good service! They have LOTS of entrees to choose from. We will be back!

We were warmly greeted as soon as came inside, service was prompt, friendly and very responsive. The food came out quickly and everything we ate was really good. We had a salad, fried catfish with a side of fried okra, and hushpuppies and brisket with mac n cheese. They also have a big pickle bar that was delicious ?

We came here after my grandmothers funeral because Krista (the owner) offered free food because she knew our grandma. Once everyone shows up to eat in the back room she tells us we’re taking advantage of it, and says it’s fine whatever. Then when we offered to pay for everything she says no. After most of our family had left she tells my mom we need to pay it or at least half which we were fine with. But don’t offer to pay for everything and then make us feel bad for coming after you offer. Our food wasn’t great it was bland and the drinks taste like dirty water. I did come here weekly but not after this.

Enjoyed lunch with the preacher's group after our study day. The catfish with brown sugar carrots and sweet potato fries was very good.

The brisket on the baked potato tasted like canned sloppy Joe meat ? The grilled chicken was great in their salad, brussel sprouts were great. Staff was very nice and friendly and the restaurant is clean and nice setting.

Not a place I'd visit again. Food was mid. Service was poor.

The food was really good and is a popular place for long lunches during the day. This is a seat yourself environment with friendly service and large TVs in the area.
I’d say a lot of the items are slightly overpriced, but I’d still go there again for the lunch menu.
It looks like the waiters do a great job of keeping the place clean and are quick to make sure tables are open for new customers when they open up.

Vegetarian options: Not the place for vegetarians.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are some unfriendly step-downs here, but they should be able to manage wheelchairs regardless.

This place was highly recommended to me by one of my patients I see in Paul's Valley for home health. They are very welcoming and friendly. The BBQ sandwich I ordered was so good!

My husband and I are from California and drive a tractor-trailer all over the US. We stumbled upon Punkins while looking for some barbecue in the area. I had the sliced brisket sandwich, homemade chips, and deep-fried brussel sprouts. My husband had the catfish, sweet carrots, and homemade chips…Everything was perfect! The brussel sprouts were amazing and the brisket and catfish were perfection. We also had the carrot cake, which is probably the best I’ve ever had and the peach cobbler. Every time we pass by here on the 35 we definitely will stop.
