My friend and I happened upon this place while walking to a different restaurant and decided to take a chance. We don't live in sallisaw so we had never heard of it. I'm so glad we did. It's hard to find a good chicken fried steak but this one hit all the marks. The potato's were REAL! The okra was crispy and the beer was cold.
Clean environment and friendly staff.
10/10. I will go out of my way to eat there again if the chance arises.

First time customer visited steakhouse on 10/18/2024. Cost $35.17 for myself. I ordered the 12oz Ribeye (MR), house salad, baked potato and texas toast ($29.00). Plus $5.00 tip The salad was a great surprise. Not your usual house salad. The steak was huge, but only around a quarter inch thick with a small baked potato. I am thinking this was a select cut of meat, not choice or prime cut. They also offer a Ribeye Sandwich. When I first saw the thichness of the steak. My thought was this should go in a sandwich. I will come back and try something else.

First I would say very nice people and I like the atmosphere in the old turn of the century Oklahoma building.I have been twice now and this time was disappointed in this experience. I got there at 7:00 pm and was going to order a new york strip based on my girlfriends steak being so good on the first time there.I was told they were out of the New York strip and out of lettuce for salad.Ok,I ordered the ribeye instead at 10 0z.My girlfriend ordered a sirloin which was perfect and 8.00 less then mine.My steak was cooked perfectly which isn't easy to cook a medium rare steak that is as thin cut as this ribeye was and seasoned great too.My problem here is I had at least 3 to 4 ounces of pure fat on it and my steak wasn't what I should've received.So I had a fatty steak,couldn't get a salad and my waitress while nice said I could upgrade due to them being out of the new york strip.All told I paid 83.00 for the meal and tip.Will I go back?Yes because I understand the food service as a semi retired French trained chef.Problem for me is I never complain and try to be understanding but this evenings meal needs to be corrected by learning how to cut a steak.Will go one more time because I'm sure these are great people and I live near and want a good steakhouse and to support local too.

My steak was cooked perfectly, and it was very family-friendly with a good kids menu.
Kid-friendliness: They provided a coloring sheet and crayons along with a kids menu. When my DIL needed to change the baby, they showed her a quiet spot and gave her a bag to dispose of the diaper.

The steak and filet were delish and cooked as we'd ordered. Definitely would visit again and order another filet!
Best damn steak in the area!! The Ribeye was spot on delicious. The wife had a New York strip that was damn near the size of my ribeye and just as tasty.
She had a margarita that was really good and the beer I had was good and cold.
Service was a little slow because they were short handed but the server was really friendly and apologetic.
It was our first time there so we will definitely be back and I will tell anyone GET THE RIBEYE ?

I only ordered to go so far and let me tell you even to go orders are phenomenal from the time you call until you hang up from placing the order. Seen J&D’s Steakhouse post on Facebook and thought I’m kinda hungry and the post looked kinda good so I called asked for basic menu items and the girl texted me pics of the menu with then 3 minutes I called and placed my order. I think within 10 minutes I went picked up the food and was very very impressed. The next day my family and I ordered our lunch for that day. 2 days in a roll and now it’s Sunday and they are closed. But great service great food and will be back.
