Boiled shrimp was so bland. I think it was just boiled in water. The coleslaw/beans/hush puppy spread is nice, IF you eat all those things. I don't like the idea of paying for something brought to my table without me asking for it. All just super bland, unseasoned food. My Louisiana soul was craving a taste of home and was highly let down. Service was okay. My waitress was very nice but I won't return.

Nice family restaurant and it's family-owned. Always friendly and they remember your name.

Let's start with parking, I do like to start with good things to say!!! There's plenty of parking. When you get in u may stick to the floor, but someone will get you to a table where you will hear 2 yes, 2 different 1 man bands trying to out play each other at each end of the restaurant. As you sit listening to the cat fight, you will get a bowl of beans, coleslaw, and hush puppies brought to ur table to eat while you wait for ur order to be delivered. Now I don't know if you read my husband's review (which you should) Eric Dybwad, is his name; but while you are here, please finish reading mine. Now the 3 appetizers brought out without asking, are ok, but when I order a certain dish, it is what I expect. The menu is on the wall and don't expect to be able to read it very well, because I don't believe anyone in there knows how to dust. I had to ask for the trout and the waitress told me it was up there, of course it is like dining in a noisy cave. It's not like anyone else can see it. She even went so far as to say it was GRILLED trout. I ordered the fries as my side and that was a bad choice they were grease filled and cold. I should have ordered a Coke or Pepsi to drink because they don't know how to make tea there and if you ask for a lemon they will toss it in the glass so you don't use it in your tea as u want instead of on the lip of the glass where the lemon goes. Now for the trout, oh, the GRILLED trout. Someone should have told the cook that you don't put trout in the oven to grill it. LOL. The skin would have been crispy not SLIMY if my trout had been grilled, and it would not have been soaked in a double layer of YELLOW margarine, it was seasoned in something that made it orange in color, that poor trout. I know anyone who loves cooking is angry by now, at how a restaurant could be so irresponsible with a cook . They priced the trout at 20.95 and cooked it like a fish stick!!! I chose not to complain as my husband was trying to get a good piece of fish. He was trying to get me to try a piece and I couldn't wrap my head around taking another bite it was so gross ?????.We paid, NO TIP NO RETURN, I ADVISE YOU GO ELSEWHERE FOR THE CATFISH CRAVINGS YOU MAY HAVE. There are no photos, we don't like to gross our followers out ?????.My husband took me here for my birthday dinner because I wanted to go. It was an excellent choice 25 years ago.

OK, let's start with atmosphere, the floor was sticky, walls were dirty with cobwebs, and there was a thick layer of dust on the knick knacks on the walls. It was so poorly lit that you couldn't see your food, which I understand why upon receiving our food. I ordered all u can eat catfish for $16.95 and a side order of frog legs $8.00, and it came with home fries. The catfish had no seasoning and was saturated with grease, the second round which I ate because I was looking for that good bite of fish took longer than it should have to get to the table, being they only bring out 3 small pieces at a time. The 4 froglegs were sitting in a puddle of oil, and when I picked it up, the crust was so soggy it fell off, YUK. I pushed the fries away because they were just as the froglegs, soggy from being bogged down with grease. Let's finish with I paid 3.50 per glass of tea.My wife had the trout with fries. Her review is on her site under Kathryn Dybwad. Please go see ? what she has to say about her 20.95 plate of grilled trout and fries. I took my wife here because she wanted to go here because it was for her birthday and IT USED TO BE A GOOD PLACE TO EAT.DO NOT ATTEMPT TO EAT HERE UNLESS YOU EAT HERE ALL THE TIME!!!!! It is not worth the money you will be out.

This place is good. Has been better….for a while the fish wasn’t very good quality. Great service and super friendly people tho. ?. The prices are getting very high some items have more then doubled ? for 4 all you can eat Fish you’ll spend $100 easy and if you have soda maybe a little more. Drinks are $3 each meals $22-$25. Never, in my entire 50 years on this planet, have I ever been impressed with a hush puppy. That being said, their hush puppies were the highlight of the meal! I had crab legs and they were good but I have got to brag on the hush puppies! Those alone were worth the visit!

This place is indescribable. The fish and frog legs were fried and spiced to perfection. I ate until I hurt, and then a couple more. Did I mention it is all you can eat! Now I know that usually means it's mediocre, no sir, not here.

Shad's is my.absolutely my favorite restaurant. I had family visiting from Michigan, Alabama and Tennessee, we all had a great time. They're still bragging about the food, employees and the service. Everything was simply marvelous.
