Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Because of a meeting we never got any corn bread because the person who makes the corn bread was in the meeting. One of the reasons we go to Cracker Barrel for their corn bread. We waited extra time but no corn Bread.

Clearly open tables. But waiting was 20-30 minutes. We went elsewhere. - During the "COVID" times.

Edit, 2025. Okay. Been here a few times since my last review, so I came here to say to Cracker Barrel: you are the reason people say online that "white people don't season their food." There was a "new" item on the menu as a side: "seasoned rice". Needless to say, it was not very seasoned. Bland, dry, unremarkable except to point out there was NOTHING seasoned about it. My entree was broccoli cheddar chicken. It was actually quite good. My wife's chicken fried steak obviously came from a freezer, not fresh. The kids both got Mac and cheese, which was the most bland I ever tasted. Salt wouldn't fix it. There was no cheesey taste to it. Just yellow milk and mushy pasta. Nothing tastes seasoned at all. The corn muffins were good. The hash brown casserole was good. The server, Carlton, was great!
Please, for the love of God, learn to season your food. You're not cooking for nursing home seniors, or Branson dinner shows. I think it's time to scrap the menu and start fresh, with an emphasis on fresher, scratch kitchen offerings.

My wife and I had the old timers breakfast and the bacon was almost raw on both our plates...My dogs loved it. We eat at Cracker Barrel a lot and have only had 3 or 4 bad meals over the years.

Not a good experience, steak was dry shrimp was hard and my chicken strips didn't look 1% like the menu. My peach mimosa was good!

Over eaten a few times no complaints

The last couple times I have gone in the portions have been severely small. Some of the food isn’t that good. I’ve been a regular at this location for years. I don’t know what is going on. Kinda sucks cause now I won’t go back often if it’s gonna be like that. Food is expensive and I don’t wanna pay that much If I’m not gonna get decent amount and quality.

The hash brown casserole was only hash brown that were cold/warm, no other ingredient on or mixed in them. Finally got waiter and was replaced with apples. My friends were taken to kitchen and cheese melted over them. I have had hash brown casserole many times so know what it is suppose to be. Very disappointing.

No one would take my to go order. Also I was charged 9 dollars the last time I did a pickup. Someone in the restaurant told me that they didn't. I know what I was charged. Forget us coming there to eat. You suck.

Let me cut to the chase: do not eat here. Food quality has gone completely downhill in last year. The country fried steak is a frozen soy-flour high school cafeteria quality “entree” and is horrible. The fried chicken was dripping in deep fryer grease and was terrible. This used to be a good place to eat but clearly corporate headquarters has decided to cut costs by substituting cheap quality ingredients. Avoid this place at all cost.

Call in a order an hour ahead of time and still get their and have to wait is ridiculous but I guess that is the new normal

I ordered crispy chicken tenders. Unfortunately there was nothing crispy about them. My husband had fried chicken and it was dry and not so good. Was not a good visit there. We’ve had better. We wished we had went somewhere else to eat. May not visit that place anytime soon

I ordered the chicken and dumplings, my favorite but not today. The chicken was so tough you couldn't chew it and some of the dumplings were burned on the bottom. For the price I was disappointed. Other than that everything else was ok.

Sausage undercooked by a lot. Ordered as takeout. They also forgot my kids biscuits and syrup. Update: 02/24 the dumpling soup is ice cold and has no dumplings!
