This is the absolute best place in town to eat. Try the jalapeno popper soup it's to live for of you haven't tried it, don't walk run and I mean you better hurry.! To summarize: it's lacking a little. I ordered the Grilled Cheese Supreme, and I must say it's probably the best grilled cheese I've had in my entire life. My problem is not with this incredible sandwich, of course, but with the other aspects of the place.
The sandwiches are made with Walmart Great Value bread (or Ozark Heath). The chips served with it (if you choose this as your side) are Walmart Great Value potato chips - there are no flavors to choose from, either. I ordered a Dr. Pepper and was given an empty glass of ice and a bottled Dr. Pepper, presumably also bought from Walmart. If it had just been poured in before delivering the glass to me, I probably would never have known - but it feels like a slap in the face to order a drink at 2.99 and have it brought to your table in a plastic bottle.
These combined aspects make the place feel like it's lacking something. It's held back a bit. We all need to save where we can and I understand especially after COVID that some places need to take certain measures just to stay afloat, but this restaurant has been in business for 13 years by now. Like I said, the main course was incredibly delicious, but everything else made me feel like I was at a kid's birthday party. A kid's birthday party where I had to pay $12.99 for a grilled cheese and some Walmart brand chips.
There are plenty of other unique options to try. Plenty of other sandwiches, salads, and tacos, but I wouldn't hold your breath if you're wanting bang for your buck.
All in all, try out the Grilled Cheese Supreme! It was awesome.

Old town/small town feel to the place. It was a open style room that was long and narrow. The restaurant has art displayed throughout. I ordered the stuffed sweet potato as an appetizer, raspberry lemonade to drink (you get 1 free refill so said the menu but even though I was empty it wasn't offered so it might be a must request item) and the half order of the southwestern vegan quesadilla. The place wasn't busy when I walked in but started to get a little busier as time went by. My waitress seemed to get distracted easily and ignored me for a while and after I started not removing my eye contact from her she finally realized that I had been ready to order for a while. After that her and the other waitress started taking turns to make sure everyone was being taken care of and no more stare downs. What absolutely redeemed this place was how great the food was. I understand we all have off days/nights hence why I still tipped however they would have gotten a way better one and not just 25 % if service would have been better. I would try this place again especially since I enjoyed the food so much and maybe it was just an off day service wise. Hopefully they have a better night.

I love this place. The food is always so fresh and delicious. I can't think of anything I haven't liked. We always get the Avacado Bruscetta when we go. It's just so good. And listen, when I think of a chef, this is what I'm talking about. Good food, good flavor, good portions. Not like that bum Gordon Ramsey who makes me feel like I need to go get a double cheeseburger after eating his food.
I went in looking for a Vegan meal and I am glad I did. The wellness bowls can be made vegan . I misunderstood the menu and thought the burrito bowl was a burrito. They were so nice and actually accommodated my request to make it a wrap because I was sort of attached to the idea.
The wrap was served cold with some lovely hand cut tortilla chips. The salsa was very flavorful. There was corn, black beans, white beans, spinach, olives and chimichurri. I was comfortably full, and very satisfied.

I love that they are down town bringing life back to Shawnee. Besides that they have a sweet little diner with exceptionally great food. Its light but rich and yu..y and interesting. We were all pleasantly pleased. We like a good burger joint but its nice to have some delicious variety. Her creations are creative and really work. This place taught me that hummus and chimichurri belong together 💚💛
