My friend and I were loyal customers of Starlight Café before they stopped serving breakfast. We would come in every Sunday and sometimes Saturdays too.
So, we were all excited to learn that they started serving breakfast again and decided to go this past Saturday Jan. 10th
Only to find out that the entire breakfast menu had changed.
Alot of the options including fried potatoes and the A la carte had disappeared from the menu and the choices were minimal.
When we got there , the place was empty. We were the only customers. When we sat down the waitress asked us what we'd like to drink. My friend said, he'd like a glass of water and I said, I'd like some coffee but, I wouldn't mind having a glass of water too.
I choose a meal that came with a choice between , toast , biscuits n gravy or a pancake.
I asked my server, would it be possible for me to get toast with gravy instead of biscuits n gravy?
She said, sure that's no problem, we can do that...
Well, once we received our bill , I looked down and noticed that they charged us for the tap water that they served us (which was nasty by the way)
and they also charged me extra for the gravy that was supposed to come with my meal ...
When I went up to the register to pay , I asked our server why I was being charged extra for gravy that was supposed to come with my meal . I said , the choices were , toast , biscuits n gravy or a pancake and I specifically asked you if it was possible for me to get toast with gravy instead of biscuits n gravy and you said , sure it wouldn't be a problem, we can do that .
She said yes , we did do that but , you chose toast so the gravy was extra ...
I said but, you didn't tell me that it would be extra when I asked about ordering it.
She said, well gravy doesn't come with toast so, its extra....
Then I asked her , Why are we now getting charged for our waters because, we've never been charged for water here before?
Her answer to me was, well the owner has a water bill...
I told her that , I have a water bill too but, I don't charge my guests to use the restroom , flush the toilet and wash their hands ...
A restaurant is going to have a water bill regardless if a customer drinks water or not...
The restaurant staff needs water to wash their hands .
They need water to wash dishes.
They need water to prep food.
They need water to flush the toilet.
If they're going to charge the customer an individual fee to drink tap water , they could at least use that money and install a water filter so that , the water that they're serving doesn't taste like $#%@
If a restaurant gets to the point to where they feel they need to charge customers a fee to drink tap water , then they obviously aren't charging enough for their food and service to cover the difference...
It should never be the customer's responsibility to pay the water bill.
For that silly decision, "Starlight Café" you just lost 2 loyal customers on Saturday and possibly more to come

We've eaten here 5 or 6 times and have never had a bad meal or poor service. Surprisingly, its usually not very busy and is very quiet. Go ahead and get the haystack, you wont regret it.

Has to be one of the best damn chicken sandwich I’ve had for long time! They serve breakfast, lunch & dinner. Last thing, some of big name restaurants could take tips from a place like this. Try this place you won’t be disappointed.

There food is always the best and warm waiters are great also love his place eat breakfast there almost every weekend fried potatoes are so awesome
First time here, and we'll be back. Employees were friendly, received our food quickly. All the food was good with large portions. We had the country fried steak and eggs and the loaded hash. Very clean inside.
