This place is definitely worth a visit for lunch. The café atmosphere is bright and comfortable and the food is very reasonably priced, especially for the portions. Our family got the Chickasaw special, an elk burger, and 2 kids' meals and couldn't finish it all. Everything was fresh and well-prepared.

My granddaughters & I really enjoy this little cafe. It has a pleasant & peaceful feeling.
Very spacious, clean, prices are reasonable, & portion size are good amount.
You should never go away feeling hungry. My favorite meal is the combo. You get a huge Indian taco, Pashofa (hominy)soup & a grape dumpling. All are delicious.
It has become a favorite little spot for us to go in
the summer months when Oklahoma heat drives us back inside to cool down.
You should stop by. have a quick bite, cold drink & look around. It's free to enter.
We travel through Sulphur, Oklahoma, on our way to Ada. Which is where the headquarters of our Tribe is located.
While in the area, like history and museums, the Chickasaw capital bldg is in Tishamigo, Oklahoma, and not that far away.
We never get tired of getting the same meal each time . The tacos really are that good.
At this location there's more offerrd to see & do than to only eat.
Anyway, we have so many wonderful memories together here.
It's nice having this special one of a kind restaurant.
If you have time,try to
walk around the area for a few minutes. You'll see the many different ways the Chickasaws lived after they had to leave their home lands in Chickasaw, Mississippi.
Lastly, you don't have to be a citizen or tribe member to see everything offered here.
If you're headed north or south on I-35 from Oklahoma city to Dallas, get off at the Davis exit. Go east on Highway 7 to Sulphur, Oklahoma.
It's easy to find, the parking lot is big & you get an opportunity to learn a little Oklahoma & Native American history .

We were passing through the town and we stumbled upon the Chickasaw Cultural Center. We were greeted at the gate and told about all of the events currently going on. We were originally just there for the cafe, but we stayed and learned a lot!
The Indian tacos were absolutely delicious, mostly owing to the wonderful fry bread. I am going to try to make the fry bread myself because it was so good. The buffalo burger I got was pretty good, not very different from a beef burger. The venison stew was really good, especially when dipping fry bread in it.
If I'm ever traveling through the area again, I'll probably stop by.

A typical museum snack bar. The food was good and prepared to order. It's a large cafeteria style place as is pretty normal. And it's very convenient while visiting the Cultural Center because the facility is large and worth spending at least a day. Prices are similar to most fast food places.

Get to experience true chickasaw food here. The Indian fry bread is done perfectly. Grape dumplings are great. I enjoyed the pasofa, but plan to add salt/pepper (it's typically that way). Prices are spot on and it's very clean.

Edit: We went recently & the food was terrible, my husband's indian taco was flat & hard & just gross. The soups were good, but someone messed up big time on that fry bread!

So as we were walking in we talked to a host about things going on and what was good at the Cafe (almost lunch time). He was very courteous, talking to my nephews and explaining things not to miss. When we did have lunch the staff explained the different plates and things that would be good to share. All in all the whole Cultural Center was an incredible experience.
