The food has gotten better since the last review. The steak was just as I ordered and delicious. The rolls definitely taste like a fresh bakery made them which puts them above a few other places I have eaten. They are kid friendly and the service is great. The server was well mannered, not overly nice which gets annoying when a server is acts overly nice. We all know what I mean.

Came in just before the lunch rush around 1130. Our waitress had zero personality. Don't know if she was having a rough morning or what but she was at least cordial. Atmosphere is a perfect small diner feel! But the food. I ordered a patty melt and fries and the wife ordered a hamburger and fries. I asked for the onions to be sauteed longer and clearly that went over the cooks head because once again they were still undercooked and tough to chew through. The burger patties come in frozen like the patty you get in a gas station frozen burger but smaller and dry. And the fries... Well if you've ever been in the food industry and you had fries early in the morning when the friers are still at to low of temperature to cook... That's what we had soggy underdone grease soaked French fries. Not a lot of restaurants to choose from in Vinita but 25+ years in the business running restaurants and this was just an overall bad experience. It's usually ok eating when going but today was awful. Sorry Clantons. Maybe it's time for a product review for what your charging and serving. Cook one of your burgers and put it next to McDonald's and you will lose a battle of bad burgers. At least theirs has flavor and juices.

My visit to Clanton’s Cafe was easily one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had, and that’s unfortunately due to multiple serious issues.
Severe hygiene problems
Before even entering the restaurant, we noticed rats right at the entrance, along with dog feces on the ground in the same area. This is beyond unpleasant and raises serious concerns about the overall hygiene standards of the establishment. If the entrance is in this condition, it’s hard to trust what’s happening inside the kitchen.
Inappropriate and aggressive staff behavior
A waiter behaved inappropriately toward my girlfriend. When I calmly asked him to stop, he responded by threatening me with physical violence. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and has no place in any professional hospitality setting.
Poor food quality
The food itself was extremely disappointing. Everything tasted bland, poorly prepared, and gave the strong impression of being microwaved rather than freshly cooked. This is not what one would expect from a restaurant that claims to serve classic, homemade diner food.
Terrible value for money
Considering the hygiene issues, the aggressive service, and the low quality of the food, the prices are absolutely not justified.
Final verdict:
Rats and dog feces at the entrance, threats from staff, and food that feels straight out of a microwave — this has nothing to do with hospitality or a pleasant dining experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

I had chicken fried steak, taters and gravy, green beans. The chicken fry was on the bland side and the taters and gravy were cold but, the beans were good! Our waitress forgot our appetizer (cheese curds) so it came with our main course.

Awful place with worse food. Horrible environment created for their employees, and the food... the food has always been the most plain, boring, forgettable food. Blech 🤮

I was looking for a place with good chicken fried steak and this place did not disappoint. Tender meat and yummy cream gravy. My husband had the grilled pork chop and he said that was excellent too. The only complaint I have is that we asked for pie to take with us. I ordered lemon meringue pie and my husband ordered chocolate pie. However, when we got to our hotel and wanted to eat it, I had received coconut cream instead of lemon meringue! 😢. I cannot eat coconut…
But we would come back again, but I would check my pie order before I left the cafe. 😉

Great hometown cafe. Service was exceptional, waitresses friendly and attentive. Lots of booths but tends to fill up during busy hours. We ordered the hamburger and onion rings. Everything was good and tasty. Lots of things to choose from on the menu. We will definitely be back for more.
