When I walked in, it wasn't clear where to place my order. By the cash register was a small sign that said restaurant for sale. There were warming trays with food that looked like it may have been there awhile, so I was a little leary how safe it might be to eat. But I decided to give it a try. I ordered two pieces of chicken, rice and corn on the cob. He opened a refrigerator and took an ear of corn that hadn't been shucked, then roasted it fresh on thegrill. The drink machine was broken, so he said just grab a bottle of what I wanted. He brought the food out in a few minutes and all was very hot and tasty. The price was very reasonable and it was a good portion. I wouldn't make a drive to eat here again. But if it was close, I might try it again.

If I write a review it's because it was very bad or very good.THIS restaurant isn't fancy and doesn't stand out much against the other restaurants near by. But let me tell you. We had just finished last minute Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. Everything was either shut down already or was very close to locking their doors. And we were starving! We passed a small chain of restaurantsAnd EL POLLO CHULO caught our eye with the only lights on in the small strip. The owner was closing down despite what the open sign indicated. We entered to inquire if they were closed or in fact open.The owner who looked as if he had worked his longest day ever, stood from where he sat to greet us with a menu and welcomed us in. Encouraged us to order despite his grill being shut down and cold all of the food was put away. I felt guilty even ordering.He reassured me it was okay. So we ordered several items and he said he would bring it to my car. This man was extremely gracious and too kind to be troubled. Even though he never acted like it was any trouble at all. It was a breath of fresh air. When he brought our food out he told us the food would be the we've ever eaten.I can honestly say that he was not lying. Try this place!! You will only pay for absolute contentment a happy full belly and hospitality.""* Every place we have eaten out we have only experienced rude people, wrong order, or terrible food/ service. A sum of disappointment and wasted time and money."**It was nice to be greeted so politely.And eat great hot food priced fairly.

Have now come here three separate times after the first time I came here, early evening, afternoon, and early lunch and all times they are closed when hours say should be open. Really tried with this business but way too inconsistent even if I liked the food. Sorry. If you are thinking of driving out of your way to come here either call first or try somewhere else because 90% of the time they might be closed. ??♀️

I had a great experience on my first visit here today. The food was delicious and the owner was very personable and friendly. A lot of people that come here are in and out and take food on the go, like I did. I can after the gym and it was the perfect filling and healthy meal for me. I will be back, thanks Fred! I'll be back.
Came here, the first time the chicken was good but was cut into little pieces which I did not like. The bones are very brittle and cracking, and were getting in my mouth and hurt to eat. I don’t think you should cut up the customer’s food unless they ask. Also second time I came at 5:50 pm on a Saturday and they were closed, prime weekend dinner hours.

Everything was okay. If your searching for a nice sit down spot, not to crowded. Nothing over the top. Just a regular spot. The food has a good taste. You will not be disappointed and you will not be amazed, but you won't leave hungry and upset. Everything was ok

This is a great place to eat, I have eaten here at least a dozen times, the chicken is fantastic. But I can't give them 5 stars because the hours are wrong on the website!!! We drive all the way from Moore only to find out the they have changed their hours and close at 7 PM now.

My husband an I tried this for the first time the other night. OH MY! It was sooo delicious!! We have been told it's like the National chain El Pollo Loco. It's BETTER! We got ours to go, we had our grandsons with us, and once we got home we gobbled it down. We didn't get any sides this time, just chicken, next time we will try several sides. I can't wait to go back!!
