One of my favourite spots to visit and work from. Michelle and her team cultivate a great environment and are such a blessing to our community. I love that Bean & Basket offers vegan food options (shoutout to Kind Bakehouse) and a variety of very cool vendors to browser while you're in the shop.

I love that they sell local artisans works. The frozen maple latte was good. I had a caramel and chocolate cookie. Its was delicious!

The place is nice and cozy. Wish they had a little bit more variety of desserts or croissants to have with your coffee. Not as many choices. The caramel latte was delicious though.

Loved the vibe.
This place was really, really busy when I met a friend there at 11am on a Friday.
We sat outside on the little patio which was perfect for us - quiet, so we could chat.
I had a delicious iced vanilla latte and my friend had a hot tea latte.
Cute spot, friendly staff, yummy coffee. Next time I'll try one of their treats, too.
I wanted to check out the handmade displays, as I was debating asking if they are accepting new vendors but it was so busy we just scrambled for a seat. Another time...
I'll go back.

I used to visit Bean and Basket a lot when it first opened, but I moved to Peterborough in 2022 and haven’t been able to come by much since. I’m currently staying at my parents’ house for the week and was really looking forward to returning, but sadly the people working didn’t have the same friendly attitude as the original owners I used to see. I’m currently pregnant and was advised I can only have one shot of espresso per day. When I was ordering my latte, I asked how many shots it included, and they said two. I was going to change my order, but then the staff asked my friend if she was also getting a latte. She had planned on getting a matcha, but decided to switch to a latte, assuming that since we were both paying full price, they were kindly splitting the double shot — one for me, and three for her. However, when we received our drinks, each latte only had one shot. I politely asked if she was supposed to get the extra shot, since it had been offered, but the staff said they simply split my double between the two drinks. That meant she technically didn’t even receive her own shot of espresso, especially if a standard latte typically includes two. She should have just paid for milk and syrup in that case - not 7 dollars for a "latte" The two staff members immediately made us feel uncomfortable as they just stared and said, “That’s not how it works.” I completely understand that they can’t discount a drink for having a single shot, but we should have at least received what we paid for. At other cafés, baristas have split shots for me without any issue as they didn’t want to waste the second shot and were happy to give it to whoever I was with. The interaction felt awkward and unnecessarily sarcastic, especially with others around. Being pregnant, I don’t expect special treatment, but I also don’t appreciate being spoken down to, especially when I’m already managing anxiety related to being pregnant. It’s not like I wanted one shot by preference. We also waited a while to order, which is fine, but thought they may apologize (they didn't). Despite all that, I still left a 15% tip on a $15 order, something I typically only do when supporting local businesses. But after this experience, I’ve realized I consistently receive better service elsewhere. As a former barista, I know how important customer service is. This situation wasn’t just about being shorted on espresso — it was also about the dismissive attitude and lack of communication we were met with. Sadly, I won’t be returning.
The espresso drinks are always excellent, and all the staff are super friendly and are welcoming to my dog. The vibe in here is also super cute with the vendors market.

Adorable shop with some craft finds. But the best part is they have the best matcha I’ve ever had ! Owner and staff are also awesome :)
Delicious lattes, drinks and treats! Beautiful cozy ambience with so many lovely and unique items to purchase inside the store area! One of my favourite coffee shops!

Bean and Basket is a charming little café paired with a boutique shop featuring a variety of locally made goods. You’ll find everything from hot sauces and soaps to jewelry and a few small gift items. We picked up a jar of soup and a couple of cute things for the kids while browsing.
The space is thoughtfully decorated and has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. For a small café, the drink menu is nicely curated. We ordered a flat white and a vanilla latte. Both were well made, and I especially appreciated that the vanilla latte wasn’t overly sweet.
We also tried a poppyseed scone and an oatmeal chocolate square. The scone stood out as it was fresh, soft, and had just the right texture. The oatmeal chocolate square made for a nice little treat alongside our drinks.
This spot is a great place to stop by whether you’re looking for a good coffee, a small treat, or a thoughtful gift. It's a little gem with a strong local vibe,

Wonderful place! Best coffee shop in Ajax.
Absolutely love this quaint spot for a specialty hot beverage and treat.
The perfect hang out to catch up with friends and shop local handmade goods too.
Service is always amazing 😊.
They also have live performances from local talent to check out once in a while.
A real Ajax gem 🥰

The baristas were super nice and helpful! My tea and scone were delicious. I additionally got an iced peach tea ( again on the recommendation of the barista) on the way out and it was perfect. Real tea and lemonade and not loaded with sugar! Atmosphere is perfect :)

A quaint little coffee house and retail store in Pickering village offers a quiet getaway from the rush.
I went there this morning for a cappuccino and a berry scone. The coffee tasted great, it was enjoyable and not too strong. The scone was sweet, fluffy and the perfect size.
Service was friendly and outgoing. The overall atmosphere and quiet, peaceful and not overly cluttered even though the rest of the store is used for retail.
Speaking of which, you'll find a lot of local products and sustainable goods to support other local businesses.
This is a lovely coffee house and I recommend stopping in and staying a while.
