The lady working at the cash register was really nice, fair bit of banter. The place itself is really clean which is always a plus. Food is reasonably priced and tastes great. Portions could be a little more generous but I can't complain, it's a great value still.

Beryls is a staple in Ajax for years. The best Jamaican food you can have without having to head to YYZ jump on a plane and land in Kingston Town. The Goat and jerk chicken are authentic as it gets without heading to Jamaica, home made slaw is the best, and the dishes come with perfectly cooked rice n peas - da bomb! Every meat is spiced to perfection and you can pick up an ice cold Ginger Beer or Tang too. YUM!

[UPDATE: still great food but customer service and efficiency leaving a lot to be desired while at the same time prices are going through the roof ... sorry not giving my hard earned money to any company as a reward to treat me poorly ... sent an email with my specific issue to management; it’s been a full month now and no reply of any kind. This applies to both Pickering and Ajax locations and I would attend both equally.] MORE UPDATE: food still consistently amazing. Just empty your change holder and kids piggy bank to go along with your wallet/credit card 😳 But still 😋!

Picked up a jerk chicken entree with coleslaw and the food was so blasted tasty!! The jerk chicken was perfectly spiced and cooked. The rice and peas and the slaw was amazing. 100 % recommend this local pick up spot!

I normally order the jerk pork from Uber Eats and I enjoy it. However, this time I went in and ordered the Oxtail dinner but asked beforehand if the beans were in it because who eats oxtail and no beans? The guy checked and confirmed that the beans were in fact in there so I confirmed my order. When I got back to work to eat my food, there wasn't one bean in sight. I don't understand why the guy behind the counter didn't just say there were no beans so I would've gone ahead and ordered the jerk pork.

Beryl's Pepper-Pot has become the most expensive Jamaican Restaurant / Food across Ontario. The food is not bad, but has become unaffordable. Not to mention the food portion has become much smaller, but the price continues to shoot to the moon.

My friend had her 50th inimate birthday dinner at this restaurant. The food was top tier and the service was excellent. We had fried fish, curry goat, rice and peas. It was all delicious!!! Enjoyedcthe fried fritters appetizer and rum punch. Will definitely visit again and again.

Not only does it take 10 years to receive your order, but Beryl herself is a very disrespectful person. On my last visit to their ajax location I had spilled a drink and grabbed a few napkins to clean it up, she had saw me and proceeded to yell at me in the restaurant infront of others customers, claiming the napkins cost money, and I was wasting them, etc. I was obviously very embarrassed... But frustrated she couldn't think of a more professional way to handle the situation. I haven't been back and I've encouraged others to do the same.
