Halibut House Fish & Chips Ajax

the pricing is ridiculous 15.95 for one piece of battered fish and it was mainly batter asked for sweet potatoes fries got regular fries. coffee was awful so strong. my hubbie had 22.00 meal with a grilled fish no bigger than 3×3 and a garden salad mainly Lettuce one piece of tomatoes and 3 pieces of red onion. never going back!!!!

at the markham and kingston road location in Scarborough, The male server was very rude with my family on family day from not allowing us to chose the table we preferred although the restaurant was empty, to rushing us to order, to acting surprised when i asked the dishwasher to get his attention to clarify my order which was placed at the table when i was in the washroom. The fries were very hard and not tasty. For 21$ a meal this is not the service/customer treatment, or quality of food one would hope for or expect. It seemed he was giving an ungrateful attitude for our business. He even said "dont come back if this is how you behave" when i called him out on rushing us to pay, when i let him know i will pay now but not be rushing myself to finish my meal at any point soon. I tipped very miminal, because it actually felt like he didnt deserve a tip at all for his unaccomadating , impatient and impolite attitude..Good luck. I really hope this location does something about the poor customer service skills of this man, because this isnt a new issue. He was rude and unaccomadating last time to even a few years ago, this restaurant wont be able to stay in business very long if they treat all customers in such an ungrateful manner.

Best fish and chips. Service is always great and friendly.

I've only recently discovered Halibut House, but it's quickly become my favourite go-to for fish and chips. The portion sizes are amazing and the fish is fresh and very crispy.

Just had their Greek chicken souvlaki with rice and salad and I was actually surprised at how delicious it was coming from a fish house. The rest of my party had the fish and chips of various varieties and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and were full and it was cooked to perfection.

halibut was overcooked and dry, batter was not good and lacked taste, fries were mushie. my first time trying it. last time too.

Was disappointed with my first take out order of fish & chips , fish was flat as a pancake and soggy , chips were soggy as well because the fish was on top of the chips in the box with no paper between them , no tarter sauce with order which I asked for , apparently you have to ask for it even though you are paying for it which shouldn’t be the case , chips were not have cooked many still white weren’t golden or crispy like Niagara Falls Halibut house , plus there was no where to park to pick up take out , the parking lot seems to be shared with KFC drive through lane, perhaps the parking lot isn’t finished yet , I parked across the busy street where Hanks is . The Dine in section isn’t very big fills up fast lots of waiting on busy nights but hey its new as well may settle down in a few weeks I will go back again , only my first visit , hopefully they can get it on track , been to Niagara Falls one so many times always been excellent $23.70 for one order with no Cole slaw

I paid 48$ for my partner an I. I ordered cod and he ordered halibut. This is the tiny box they gave us our food in. Rice is so cheap, and cod is far from being expensive so they are overpricing their meals a lot.How can 2 tiny boxes like these be $48? I feel like Ive just got robbed.I recommend the cod it taste nice but the halibut isn’t nice. Nothing special about the flavour literally just salt & pepper….Don’t go there very hungry it will only feel like a snack.

Coleslaw portion is ridiculously small.

Sometimes fish and chips just hits the spot! Yum! ?
