I will definitely go back! They had 3 vegetarian options for the day and at a Jamaican restaurant thats rare lol. I bought all 3 and tbh the soup is my favorite because it has a good consistency, AMAZING flavour and enough spice. The Ital stew is second to the soup and still had sooo much flavour. The only reason the chick peas is my least favorite is because I just have it often but it tastes great too lol
You must visit this place!!

Good food, Good service. One of my new favorite places. Everything I’ve tried so far were satisfying. My daughter and I really liked the fish with rice and peas. I wish they had plantain to go with it. Yum!!

One of the best oxtail and curry goat dishes in Durham. Well seasoned with the right spice levels.

Love this place. Yummy food, great customer service.
Went to Myrtles today and the business wasn't open as it was stated on Google. I dint even get the opportunity to try their food. There was a worker inside the restaurant and kept waving hand gestures saying they weren't open. So I wasted gas money to get food from them before work and they weren't open. I say don't tust their business hours you may be disappointed.

First time visit, and a bit disappointed. This place was pointed out to me by someone, a week earlier. On this particular day, I was in the area, and hungry, so I thought I would grab a bite and have it in the car. I ordered a medium sized soup with kidney beans and oxtail. When I opened it to eat, I couldn’t. It was cold. Soups should be served hot, but here the soups are laid out in containers, on the counter. When ordered, a container of cold soup that was sitting on the counter, is handed to you. I had to drive some 30 minutes away to heat it up. Moreso, I expected some provisions in the soup, but there was none. Nada! I got a spoonful of meat, 2 small loonie-sized dumplings, lots of kidney beans, and a whole lot of bones. That was it! For $10.00. Not exactly worth the price, nor what I expected. I cannot speak for the other dishes, as I’ve not tried them, but mine was basically basic. Nothing outstanding or extraordinary. Also, menu items could be posted more visibly and clearly, with prices listed. The menu was hand scribbled on a small piece of paper and affixed to the plexiglass, with no prices included. Therefore, one has no way of knowing what anything cost. The female Server appeared pleasant, but the place lacks appeal and needs updating. Hopefully, this is taken as constructive feedback, and not as trying to undermine the business.
Parking: there appeared to be adequate accessible parking. location is behind the plaza, not visible from the main road.

Subject: Re: Concerns About Food Safety
It's absolutely disgusting that the workers at the takeout restaurant aren’t wearing gloves while handling food. The fact that they’re using their bare hands to cut chicken and then putting it directly into containers is beyond unacceptable. It’s even worse that they’re touching their phones and doors without any regard for hygiene. This is a serious health risk, and I’m appalled that the owner allows this to happen. I won’t be returning until I see significant changes in their food handling practices.

My colleagues and I got the jerk chicken meals. Chicken and rice Were very moist and flavorful. Nice amount of spice as well. Side salad was very basic though. Just some lettuce with a single slice of tomato and cucumber. Also, I asked for oxtail gravy and I didn’t have any in my meal. I may, or may not come back whenever I’m in the area.
