So glad I tried this place. Co worker said this is her fave Vietnamese restaurant in Durham and she's Vietnamese so decided to give it a try. We got takeout via in-store pickup. The restaurant is large and spacious inside with lots of booths. Lots of people waiting for pickup too. Ordered the B1 vermicelli combo with assorted meats, a spring roll, and a small beef brisket pho. Everything was tasty. Spring roll was skinny and could have pack more into it but it was pretty good. Love the pho. The the broth was just right, meat was tender. Really happy with the pho. Will be back!

Ordered my usual go to - house special vermicelli which came with noodles, salad, 4 skewered beef, 2 shrimps on a skewer & a spring roll. The taste was entirely different from what I expected it to be. Noodles were a bit dry as if they've been out for a while, beef was on a skewer and tasted nothing like lemongrass, spring roll was mediocre but lacked ingredients like taro or wood ear to make it more authentic. The most tragic part for me - someone who grew up in a Vietnamese household - is that there was no fish sauce (Nuoc Cham). The "yellow" sauce was in a bottle beside the hoisin and hot sauce. It tasted more like sugar water with some splashes of fish sauce. No chilli, no garlic in it what so ever. It is fine if the food itself wasn't up to my expectations but for a "Vietnamese"restaurant to not have authentic fish sauce just blows my mind. Also ordered the pho (7/10) which was okay but lacked the true broth flavour, bun bo hue (7/10) which tasted like broth mix, and jack fruit and mango shakes (5/10) which tasted like sugar ice. The restaurant cheaped out on the fruit. Overall I would recommend it to someone craving Vietnamese food in the Durham area as there aren't many options. Just don't come here with the expectation that you'll find truly authentic, mind blowing Vietnamese cuisine.

We were craving some Viet food so stopped here hoping to fulfill our cravings ! Unfortunately this did not happen ! We got two vermicelli bowls aka bun ( house special and pork/spring roll vermicelli), two house special pho, 1 bun bo hue, 1 spring roll and 1 avocado smoothie ! The bun was so tasteless .. noodles were not like the regular Viet vermicelli but more like the Chinese style noodles and more dry . The meat tasted like curry and not like regular grilled meat .. it was also in a skewer format . The spring roll was weird, it's like a bunch of scrap ingredients were put into it forming the spring roll. The texture was soo strange - I've never ate anything like this ! The pho was very salty and did not have the beef bone taste ! They also didn't give any culantro or perilla ( purple leaf herb ) and only gave basil ! The avocado smoothie also tasted off - didn't personally try this but my Bro's gf said she had better ! The most disappointing was the fish sauce which was lacking fish sauce taste .. it was very weak tasting ! Overall , I was disappointed at my experience here and would not come back . 1 star for friendly staff and 1 star for the location - it was easy to find !

Ordered our food at 8pm, two soups, thinking we'd be out of there by 8:40 as we had somewhere to be by 9pm. Waited and waited, noticed it was odd that two soups wouldn't come out after 20 minutes (restaurant was not busy as it was a weeknight). After 30 minutes I go up to the counter and request my food to go as we had no time to sit and eat. Waiter desperately looks for my bill, only to realize he'd never put it through the kitchen! Waste of 30 minutes waiting for nothing. Very bad service. Never going back again.

This location has been replaced by Pho Giato. Used to come to the Pho Metro at this location. It recently got better but just as it did, its now been replaced by another restaurant. The new place has lesser menu options and broth is on the bland side. Raw beef in the pho was already cooked when served and was overcooked (chewy).

We were shopping in Ajax and were super excited to find a Pho Metro in the area. My husband and I ordered Bun Bo Hue and were really disappointed. Nothing like what we're used to at the Scarborough location (our favourite!) The bun bo hue at this location had like maybe two pieces of meat and some weird flaky sauce. We actually had to literally mixed the sauce into the soup to give it that reddish color otherwise it'll just be regular clear broth soup. This is not bun bo hue and they should not have it on their menu if they can't do it right! Will never go back.

Pleasant customer service but unfortunately the food is not authentic from the Pho Dac Biet soup to the Rice special dish. We're bit disappointed as the other two Pho Metro locations seem to be way better.

Seems to be new owners at this place.... Cuz the food is great again! Servings dudes are large and the prices are comparable to places in Scarborough and Markham. My only criticism is the vinaigrette for bun and spring rolls, etc. it no longer comes in a sealed dish, rather it's in a condiment squeeze bottle available on the table and is really bland. It's a very watered down nuoc mum, you can hardly get the flavor of fish sauce or vinegar. Tastes like a sugar, salt water mixture. If you stick to other dishes that don't require the vinaigrette then you're fine. Nice to have a Viet go to again.

*Appearance: 7.5/10 Missing coriander+onions *Soup: 7/10 Flavourful and sweet yet a hint of very strong beefy smell *Noodles: 8/10 Thin and firm *Meats: 7.5/10 Generous and tender, missing tendons which is standard for Pho special *Portion: 8/10 Size M *Sides: do not get A1, tastes like 100% flour rather than pork+shrimp as advertised *Service: Quick and easy Overall: 7.5/10 Would recommend if you are craving Pho within Durham area.

Pho Metro started in Scarborough and has done really well over the last few years and have added franchises in Markham and Ajax. Unfortunately I would have to say that this is the weakest of the 3 locations. The Pho here is okay but the quality and service is very inconsistent. Some of the strengths are that the fried springs rolls are still very good and the Pho is decent. The rice dishes are really weak and although service is friendly its also lacking. You get different orders at different times, appetizers come after mains, ended up getting my own plates etc... Overall this is a tough one as there's not a lot of Vietnamese places in Ajax but can only give this a 2.5/5. Sorry!

Friendly staff. Awesome pho! I usually bounce back and forth between p2 rare beef pho and BBQ beef and rice. Both are awesome. My only complaint is the portion seems smaller than before.

First and last time here Food: 0.5/5 Decent size but food was bland, the broth was watered down AND HUMAN HAIR FOUND IN FOOD*** Staff: 2/5 Waitress was nice but owner has a temper and an attitude problem Service: 0.5/5 Took forever to get their attention for condiments, questions and orders (it wasn't busy). Owner made it seem like it was a bother for me to call the waitress over in the middle of their conversation. Reported hair in food and did not receive a single apology, just plenty of attitude.

Not a Pho expert by any means but I LOVE this place. Generous portions, clean space, and delicious Pho. We generally go for the veggie Pho and ask for extra bean sprouts and basil. They present everything so nicely and are very helpful with the menu, especially for Pho newbies like us. It's always pretty busy, even on weekdays. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the price point. Price: 3.5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Ambience: 4/5 Service: 4/5
