Been here a few times for takeout and the food is excellent, the kids devour it so that’s always a 5 star for me! The service is also excellent, very friendly and helpful.

Best sushi ive had. High quality, ayce sashimi, wonderful grilled, torched, and fried foods. Deep fried icecream rocks. Worth the money!

I had an unpleasent experience of being told I could not sit down to eat in the restaurant because I had ordered takeout. I was confused and thought maybe dine-in prices are different but No, she confirmed prices are the same. Rules that makes zero sense. That's bad customer service. Will not be returning here!

AYCE and quick takeout. Appears to be family run. No issues, but of course when dealing with AYCE, it's about high quantities pumped out and taste of rice etc might take a backseat. But for the non picky sushi eater or first timer there should be no issues.

I’ve visited Umi Sushi in Ajax a few times now—both for dine-in and takeout—and it never disappoints. A couple of months ago, my partner and I dined in and tried the Maki Party Tray (58 pieces, $51.50). We enjoyed it so much that we ended up ordering the same tray again for takeout not long after.
The tray offers a great mix of rolls: 6 pieces each of California, salmon avocado, spicy crab, spicy salmon, avocado cucumber, tuna, and salmon rolls, along with 8 pieces each of the dynamite and rainbow rolls. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavourful.
One thing I really appreciate is the portion size—it’s genuinely enough for two people, which isn’t always the case at other sushi spots. The value for the price is fantastic, and Umi Sushi has definitely become one of our favourite go-to places in Ajax.

This sushi made a grown man cry! We stopped in Ajax on our way through and found this little gem. What Umi sushi lacks in ambiance, it makes up for in flavor and quality. We loved the fries and my husband literally cried over the flavor and quality of the red snapper. We loved the food so much that we stopped in on our return trip a few weeks later. We look forward to a future return visit. The crew that works there was also very friendly. 1000% recommend.

This restaurant is exceptionally clean, and the food is absolutely delicious. The owner is incredibly warm and welcoming. She even took the time to recommend dishes based on our personal preferences, which made our dining experience all the more enjoyable.
What truly touched us the most was when I accidentally left my Louis Vuitton wallet at the restaurant. The owner not only found it, but also went out of her way to verify my identity and personally return it to me.
She doesn’t just run a wonderful business—she also has a truly beautiful heart.

This place is a mess—worst customer service ever. They completely forgot about us, only to come over when they were closing to say it was the last call, then had the nerve to offer to box our food for an extra charge.
They serve water in tiny daycare cups and don’t even check if you need a refill—you have to sit there and ask for more water and food. It’s not “all you can eat,” it’s “all you can wait to be served.”
And to top it off, we were the only people there.
The washroom looks like Filmores -just without the women !
My advice? Take your $40 and treat yourself to a meal somewhere that doesn’t feel like a waiting game. This place is more “all you can tolerate” than “all you can eat.” Save your hard-earned money for a spot that’s actually worth it!

I ordered the Vegetarian Maki combo, the ginger orange dressing for the salad it came with was delicious and fresh! The miso soup was standard, sushi was pretty good. I found it to be more expensive, I paid around $18 for everything but I would eat here again.
