I’m very skeptical about Jamaican restaurants because as a Jamaican I judge restaurants that claim to be “Jamaican “. I got ackee and saltfish and I tasted ZERO saltfish on top of that the ackee was not cooked throughly, it was still hard in some parts and the dish I got it in was full of water … that should have been drained off . . I also got a patty and coco bread which honestly I just gave it to my friend because the bag was soggy like. I genuinely was hoping it would be tastey but was highly disappointed ,I don’t even want to try a lunch or dinner dish from here .

Look, it ain't fancy. The food is the bomb though, and is authentic, simple and delicious.

Came to try this establishment based on all the good reviews. My coworkers and I got the jerk chicken poutine and we were extremely disappointed. The jerk chicken barely had any flavour. It was very bland and had little to no spice. The gravy was watery thus making the fries very soggy. The food wasn't even hot, the cheese didn't even melt and there were more cheese curds that pieces of chicken. I've never had such a disappointing meal. To top it all off, they have the audacity to charge you $22 for this. I would have been better off buying a Costco poutine. Do not waste your money.

First of the service and atmosphere are great! For food we tried the oxtail and fried chicken and they were amazing. But the curry chicken was just alright. I would recommend! Go and try.

Went to Val and Patsy's Island Food for lunch today.
The food was great; the atmosphere was great and the service was great.
The chicken roti was a large portion. The festival, the plantain & the patty were awesome.
A must restaurant to stop by for take out or dine it.

The food in this restaurant is really great and worth it! Oxtail and Jerk Chicken is very tasty and the meat just falls off the bones. I will be coming back. Hidden gem for Jamaican food.
