The Coach & Lantern is probably the coziest and most quaint pub in Ancaster. Centrally located, it offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for pub goers. On Monday nights, they host a fun trivia night, which was a great find. The place fills up quickly, so it’s best to get there early. Guinness is on tap, which is always a plus.

The second floor can be rented for small events. A family member hosted a 50th birthday there, and it was a definite success. The venue catered some of the menu, and it turned out to be a perfect evening.

If you’re in the area, this is definitely a spot worth dropping in.

We have been going to the Coach for many years, but tonight, one of the worst meals we have had in awhile. Black bean burrito had no flavour, was greasy, and no black beans. We only leave this review in the hope that their food game improves as we won't be back until then. Service was fantastic.

Great service, clean washrooms, not dusty. The chicken quesadilla was perfect portion. The tortillas were not burnt, warm and slightly crunchy. The salad is very fresh indeed, with no wilted pieces and in good portion. The glass of hot water I asked for has no coffee or mold smell to it👍🏼

Our third visit here in the last few years.
Food was fine, reminded me of the quality of the pubs back in the UK 25 years ago before they starting changing to far better food now.
The service was very friendly and prompt.
The pub certainly has history and atmosphere however some areas do look tatty and perhaps a bit more cleaning would help.
Definitely worth a visit if in the area for the atmosphere with average food.

The location is hard to see from.the road but don't let that stop you from visiting. In the Summer the patio is absolutely stunning. The atmosphere inside reminds you of an Irish pub. The staff are friendly and they get to know the regulars. The food is traditional pub style and it does not disappoint. On the weekends they have live bands for entertainment and reservations are needed.
