My wife and I did a day-trip to Arnprior and we had a wonderful early dinner at Jim's Restaurant.
The restaurant venue is spacious and gives the vibe of a mid-20th century diner in the best tradition of that term.
We felt that the prices were absolutely amazing and affordable. In 2025, while the prices for everything skyrocket, dinners at this restaurant are a delicious bargain.
Our server was attentive, and the portions sizes are generous.
Most of all, it is the quality of the food we had: it felt like something either made at home or at a family-run restaurant in bygone times.
The minestrone soup was hearty; and the main courses were delicious. My wife's fried fish dish came with a side of real mashed potatoes; and my hamburger and fries were most satisfying. As the server informed us, the Jim's Hamburger patty was made from meat that had never been frozen -- again, high quality at an extremely affordable price.
And then, the made-in-house rice pudding. I could justify the drive to Arnprior just for that yummy dessert...
I am sure that the locals know how great Jim's Restaurant is. I know that I will aim to come back again soon.

The service is absolutely amazing and the food is incredible.
This is not only a restaurant to us this is a place we have made memories and will continue for many years ! My son loves this place so much.

I had the most amazing veggie omlette with homefries and baked beans, then had a slice of ruhbarb pie so good A+ Also all the staff are so kind and always smiling :) My server Cole was excellent and ga e the absolute best cutomer service ever!!! I will be back very soon, loved the music playing too

We ended up at Jim’s when it started hailing at our campground, and honestly, what a happy accident! Total small-town diner vibes with big portions, quick service, and super friendly staff. You can tell it’s a local favourite, and they make you feel right at home. Warm, cozy, and exactly what we needed.
