Absolutely incredible service and delicious panzos. This family owned restaurant is a gem of a place and the atmosphere this lovely family creates for their customers is above and beyond. Highly recommend the panzos! Will update on their other menu items as I'll definitely be returning!

The only problem is I discovered they moved by accident closer to our house... Now I have to watch my waistline as I will eat here over and over

My second experience at Frankie Panini was unfortunately a far cry from my first.

Long story short: We waited 40 minutes for fries. Yes, fries. It took 20 minutes to make veal and eggplant sandwiches, which I could stomach, but another 20 for two sides of fries. The owner said the new kitchen format was to blame and that only one fryer was available at a time and that the lunch rush was tough to handle. Except our order came in before the lunch rush happened, and people who made their orders after us walked away with their sandwiches before we even received an update on ours. Obviously they kept forgetting about our order. They just couldn’t admit it. All the owner offered us were two tiramisu cups that were very small consolation – and not a great take on tiramisu at that. The order at that point should’ve been free.

When our order finally came through, I walked away feeling annoyed but having what I thought would be a decent lunch in hand. I was wrong again. I came home to a veal sandwich that had several hairs in it. I plucked out several before giving up. I don’t know what’s going on in that kitchen, but it can’t be good. The only person I’ll give a break to is the lovely girl out front who empathized with us. But I would a need more serious apology to come back.

Had a veal and the texture was very strange so I opened up the sandwich and noticed that the meat itself was 1mm thin. The bread crumbs around it was 4 times the thickness, if not more. It gave it a gooey feel to it because it sucked up the oil it fried in. The sauce was tasty though, but not worth $20.
Not sure if this is the same place that was in Oakridge but if it is……I know it has the potential to be better.

Veal sandwich tastes great. However, the veal cutlets are paper thin and it’s mostly breading. Great service though.

the veal sandwich was really good... everything tasted really fresh and it was warm and the cheese pull was fantastic. it is a little expensive for it imo but i did order all the toppings for the sandwich. the staff is really nice too.

Good addition to food options in Aurora. Staff is always exceptionally nice.

But the exercise cannot be avoided... the comparison to California Sandwiches (CS)...

I actually had CS in Barrie the other week so I can make a solid comparison. CS is slightly more in price for a comparably topped sandwich; just a few dollars.
Frankie Panini (FP) for a veal sandwich with sweet peppers and cheese is very close to $20 (2025) with tax.

FP taste is very good but ultimately not on par with CS. CS meat seems more substantial and the combination of taste and substance would make me easily choose CS for the slight bump in price. In the photo I am including you can see the cross section of the sandwich at FP. You can see the FP veal is paper thin (veal is the dark brown line between the breading).

It's a tasty product, but either lower the price or increase the meat weight. If there were a 3.5 star rating option here I would have selected that.

We had the signature panini and it was sooooo good! Please make yourself the favor to visit and have the most authentic Italian sandwich, the sauce, the flavors, the size, it’s 100% worth it, I’m definitely coming back
