We recently moved to St. Thomas from the GTA and were craving some Caribbean eats. While driving through the lovely town of Alymer, to our delight we found Taste of the Caribbean. The food was delicious with a home cooked authentic style - nothing rushed or "fast food" about it. We had a lovely chat with the Owner, Marybelle and certainly look forward to returning for her delicious Mango cheesecake! Thank you

Authentic Caribbean food and amazing owners. The food here is 10/10, incredibly flavourful and delicious. The owner is the kindest and most patient. She made our time there extremely special. Servings are huge and very reasonable price! Everything is made from scratch and fresh, and you could taste flavour in every bite! Will be going back for sure :)

Can not recommend this spot enough . Owners are great people. The food is always full of flavour and the portion sizes is more then worth the cost. Spicy jerk chicken meal is a must try and my personal favourite . The spicy Patties are so good too . If you love Caribbean style food or want to try something new you have to stop in to TotC

I was so excited to find this restaraunt in Aylmer, the owner is lovely.I was so disappointed in my LARGE order of jerk chicken. I received 5 tiny pieces of chicken with one being the spine with no meat a 2 bite leg, and 3 other tiny pieces of chickenTotal bites of chicken...6!!! And 2 pounds of rice. I was so disappointed and will not be going back

Ordered the large oxtail and paid around $20. It came with 2 bones of oxtail, 2 small plantains, 1 small container of coleslaw, and a full bed of rice and peas. It was very disappointing. I have been to a lot of Caribbean restaurants, and this is the first time I have paid this much for 2 bones. Oxtail is expensive, but not so costly where you only get 2 pieces of bones. It was not flavourful either.I am making this review with respect and honesty. If you are looking to try this place, please do so as you might have a different experience. They offer other dishes that sound incredible. They only make oxtail for Friday and Saturday.
