Me and my husband was making a road trip to North and on our way we had dinner at 17 Restaurant at blind River, , the food and service was excellent, we enjoyed food so much that next time will come this way only to have dine in here

We had better burgers here than in a well known specialty burger restaurant in SSM.
Waitress was great and we are happy that we went with her recommendation to try the DL burger.

Read high reviews and stopped in for supper. The restaurant was very busy, but we were seated fairly quickly. Good menu selection. The fish I ordered was supposed to be boneless, but I still found bones in it, however the rest of the meal; veggies and potatoes were good. My hubby got the whitefish and he said his meal was good. Overall, a good experience.

Decided to try their breakfast and I'm not disappointed at all. We got the Classic with Fried Bologna and the Hungry Man's Breakfast, the food was delicious, fairly priced, and came out quick. I would definitely recommend eating here.

We had the roasted pepper soup, it was ok. A bit too thick and a wee bit flavourless. We also had the fish and chips. It was fine. Staff is friendly, however, once we got our coffee and food, that was it! No one came back to see if we wanted coffee refills or ask how everything was. It was 2:30 when we were eating. It wasn’t too busy!

Ordered a grilled cheese, veggie wrap, as well as chicken and fries. Grilled cheese tasted like it was made with kraft singles and veggie wrap was totally unseasoned and tasted like a salad in a cold tortilla. Chicken was tasteless and fries were soft with no salt. Fine emergency food but I wouldn't seek it out again

We ate here for dinner and then the next morning for breakfast. It was perfect! Good food at reasonable prices, great service, and the atmosphere was a nice surprise juxtaposed with the outside of the building. Highly recommended.

I did work for the owners from April until the end of June 2025. They owe me $3975. They both said I would get paid, the wife before I started & the husband when I left - as of yet August 21, 2025 I've received no money. I did go in a few days later but the wife saw me coming in & immediately touched the cash register & was putting up a front. One of the servers asked if she could he.p me & I told her right away I was there to speak to Gail. Immediately Gail continued to act as if she was having problems with the cash register & said she didn't have time & it was going to take her hours before she would have any time. I'm not on welfare & do not receive assistance from the government. I have bills to pay like everyone else. Their meals are over priced. They don't want to pay me for the work I did but they expect people to pay the prices they charge to eat there. I guess that's how they treat seniors. Obviously one cannot trust what they say to you. The best form of advertising is word of mouth & at this point this place would be the last place to choose to eat at. It explains why they go thru so many hired help. I'm not nor ever was an employee - I needed part time work. I have bills to pay. At times I would treat myself to a meal there. On one occasion I found a mouse turd after I finished eating my meal. It was stuck to the little bowl of dipping sauce on the plate. I showed Gail the owner & she tried to tell me it was just a piece of the meal that got over cooked in the cooking oil. It definitely was mouse turd.
Very good experience. Our first time going and we will be back. Homemade bread for our clubhouses was amazing!! Friendly atmosphere and staff, great service and great food. ❤️ a big 10 You will not be disappointed!

This place has the best prices for a lunch stop. Bonus is the tasty food! Service a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Two sandwiches, two coffee and a shared poutine for $22, tax included!
