Good place to go for a few drinks good place to eat as well but I do not recommend getting anything with gravy because their gravy needs work
Great food and a staff to match! Casual dining (hence the 'roadhouse' name), but clean and very well managed. Menu has a good variety, all prepared fresh.
Best DJ ON WEDNESDAY
Hot beef was awesome
17th Annual Boot Hill Country Jamboree - July 31 thru August 04, 2025 is Only Eight Minutes Away...!
My wife and I routinely complain about the repetitive SquareSpace commercial depicting a young Irish lad riding on the back of a small beautiful donkey, tossing computer notebooks into the mud of a Shepherd’s flock of sheep and smashing a double-pane window sending shards of glass past customers inside a nearby pub. However, the upside is that SquareSpace now has a connection to Chatham-Kent!
Overnight on Friday January 17, 2025, a $3 Million fire destroyed a large chunk of the main commercial strip of the downtown core of Bothwell, including the last breakfast diner in the community. With nowhere to go, the current owners Shaun & Deb of L.A. Roadhouse Restaurant at 186 Peter Street South in Bothwell decided to hire SquareSpace to provide a new sophisticated website for their restaurant as well as expand their hours to provide breakfast service to the local residences. Breakfast Menu: Wed – Fri: 8 – 10 AM + All-U-Can-Eat: Sat & Sun: 8 – 10 AM + Regular Prices: Sun: 10 AM – 1 PM.
Bothwell is known for the World Champion Chainsaw Carver Mike Winia, who created the 2024 Chatham Crowfest sculpture of ‘Russell the Crow’, as well as one of Chatham-Kent’s biggest furniture stores Bothwell Fine Furniture and the Jim Kish Theatre, venue site for last year’s A Little Swing plus the Christmas Thing Concert presented by Wallaceburg’s The Brass Factory Big Band.
Established in 1981, one of the original choices for re-naming the Chatterbox building for a new restaurant was ‘Trackside’. While the name seemed ideal, since it is located alongside a railway, it was understandably abandoned to avoid confusion with the Dresden Track Kitchen alongside the Dresden {Harness} Race Track and Eli’s Trackside Restaurant in Chatham adjacent to the Canadian Pacific Railway. The name chosen by the original owners Larry & Audrey for their restaurant incorporated their first name initials as L.A. Roadhouse Restaurant.
With the help of Waitress Cristal and Chef Shaun, we were served bottomless cups of dark brewed coffee, an order of large fluffy pancakes with perfectly grilled sausage, and a perfectly soft ham & cheese omelette, sliced tomato and toast with peanut butter & jam.
The Roadhouse has a very large and spacious dining area full of knick-knacks and images going back over fifty years! When the weather is warmer, a screened summer room is opened up, featuring a full-size pool table with the added ambiance of speeding trains passing by on the Canadian National Railway!
Best chicken wings around. Great atmosphere, friendly staff however sometimes service is a bit slow.
Frendly staff! Great small town restaurant/pub
Food - good, still took nearly an hour to receive food.
Service - good, EXCEPT the venue was short staffed and the server was in the weeds from 630pm on. Between the phones, takeout, making drinks, serving, food running, and bussing, this was too much for one FOH to handle. We made a reservation the day before and we're a little disappointed with the level of help our server had. To reiterate, the server did a great job for how busy it was.
We come regularly and the last 2 times the overall service has been a little slow.
We frequent this Roadhouse because it's damn good! Love the food, and greatly appreciate the kind and friendly service. If a mistake was made, they fixed it and made it right. I gave the Atmosphere 5 stars but I've only ordered takeout. I have no doubts that eating/drinking there would be a great experience. Cheers, We love your chicken fingers n fries, burgers, salads, club sandwiches and of course fish n chips to name a few.
If you are driving through the well known small town oh Bothwell , this place and the legion are where it’s going on . It ‘s been there for as long as I can remember long time

We must not complain or have big expectations of our surviving rural restaurants, and road houses.
This roadhouse has a pretty good local vibe. They limit their hours so that they can have adequate staff and then the place fills up and it is worth the effort.

Its an old school restaurant in the country. Wasnt really busy sat at a table it needed a little wipe down, waitress noticed and said she be right back to clean it but instead brought menus and utensils and placed it on the table then came back after and wiped the table down which made no sense, we ordered wings because thats what this place is known for, wasnt to impressed id give it a 5/10. Service was fast but i had to question whether the wings were cooked or not came out in 2 minutes.
