Tastiest apples in town

I had a wonderful day picking apples. The orchards were loaded with Cortland apples and our picking time was 10 mins at the most for a half bushel bag. Farm employees were so nice! I will be back!!

Nice cider and winery place. Went with a friend and we were able to try 4 different ciders. Wish we got there a bit earlier to explore more outside. Next time!

Great place and easy to find. The covered playground looks amazing for the kids. Excellent selection of non-alchololic ciders too.

We had such a great time visiting with our kids last weekend! There's a fenced in play area for the little ones, delicious food, cider/wine tasting, apple picking.... Highly recommend :)

I recently visited Archibald Orchard & Winery to spend some valuable time with family and friends. The variety of apples available was impressive, with each one offering its unique taste. The $45 charged for a bag was worth it, considering the delightful flavors and the enjoyable experience.

apples here are really nice, space is quiet and not crowded with people, their sparkling apple cider is stunning too

Great place for kids and families. Lots of apples and selection of types of apples. Lots of parking. Porta potties available with hand washing. Kids area with shade for eating with picnic tables and a little play area for young kids. Also has a great little market. Even when it’s busy there’s so much room for everyone to walk around. Our second time going! 10/10!

Lived in Bowmanville for a decade and never been. My dad, a former minister at Tyrone and Enniskillen United Churches, suggested it not long ago. We loved it. The two hosts/owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The price was right (4 samples for no charge and $6.00 for a full glass of wine). Best of all, we brought our daughter of 14 months and the sandbox with toys out back was perfect to keep her happy! We'll be back in the fall.

This orchard and winery offers a delightful experience with its scenic views and tasty wines. You can enjoy a relaxing stroll through the orchards, sample some delicious wines, and soak in the peaceful countryside. It’s a great spot for a casual day out.

Archibald's has been a mainstay in my life since I can remember. They do apple picking every fall and have an awesome variety, plus the knowledgeable staff and owners will tell you when to go to get the apples you prefer. (Like, now I know the go a bit later, but not too late, if I want to get their amazing honeycrisp).

They make a lot of wines, and cider, and non-alcoholic ciders. I've tried pretty much all of them. They offer a free tasting so I love taking my out-of-town friends here. The place is charming and all the drinks are good, just depends on what you're in the mood for.

Recently they've started selling local artisans' goods inside the store which is awesome and I love how it supports the local economy. You can always find something interesting inside. They also have a women's golf league here with their own course. I don't play golf, but if I did, I would do it here.

There's a little playground outside made out of recycled stuff. Doesn't look like much but my kids love it (10 & 7) and I've never seen anyone not enjoy it. They also set up a corn maze in the fall, and every year I get a pic of my kids with the cute scarecrow that measures them. We love it here!

Finally popped in after 2+ years of wanting to visit but never making it out. So glad we did!

They have a wonderfully shaded playground area made from recycled farm equipment, a big selection of ciders and fruit wine, and a variety of snacks to build your own little charcuterie board on site.

In an age of overpriced Instagram-bait “family farm experiences”, this place is refreshingly local, friendly, and low on pretension. Yet another feather in Bowmanville’s cap as a gem of Durham.

P.S. try the strawberry lime hard cider. It was our favourite.
