Some of the worst wait times I have ever experienced at a McDonald globally. From locations across Canada US and Europe 40+ min to get through a drive though or pickup is unacceptable

terrible drive thru. If you’re not capable of working on New Year’s Day, don’t be open. It’s plain and simple. “It’s company policy, I can’t swap out the mayo in the chicken snack wrap happy meal for ranch”. Meanwhile, 2 days ago, your midnight crew with double the amount of cars in line were able to do it no problem. 5 stars for them. 0 stars for the wannabe manager with new “privileges” who can’t even make an attempt to make the customer happy. You’re telling me if a child is allergic or has a food sensitivity to mayo and would like to sub it out for ranch—you’re straight up telling the child: “sorry I can’t do that for you but I can upgrade your meal”. News flash; the mayo substitution isn’t coming out of your paycheque. You have workers wearing headsets who are making the meals and more than able to do the change. The ability to problem solve and give genuine customer service is beyond concerning for someone of this level. Terrible promotion selection. I am fully sitting in the Courtice drive thru instead (because I would rather inconvenience myself and drive out of town) and guess what! They said “no problem!”. All smiles, no problems, and i was able to get the wraps I wanted. Because it’s that simple.

This store is always chaotic. I placed an order online and was told to go straight to the pickup window. Instead, I was stopped at the first window by a confused employee who asked for my phone number and then pulled up the wrong order—even though my order had already been confirmed at the speaker and I was told to drive to the pickup window.
I ended up waiting over 45 seconds while the employee tried to figure things out, only to be told that my order was delayed because “training is going on.” As a customer, I shouldn’t need to know about internal training issues, nor should I have to experience the consequences of them. Overall, very frustrating and poorly managed. Additionally i ponder why do I always get food out of the window that has all the lettuce or onions in the wrap instead on the burger and why is it always cold?

I was waiting 20 minutes for my food watching everyone else go past. And all I ordered was a sausage McMuffin with a medium fry and a 10 piece combo. Didn’t get half the stuff I orderd. They said they are understaffed but got 5 people standing at the second window. What a joke..

the service at this mcdonald’s is horrible, definitely the worst one i’ve been to. i’ve been here plenty of times went in, drive through and have ordered online every time there is an issue. majority of the time it is the insanely long waits times (they will act like your not even there until you complain enough) other times my order is messed up or just completely not what i ordered. something clearly needs to change at this place because if your service and restaurant is bad for mcdonald’s standards somethings wrong, i find it funny how this place is ran these past years, i will say i definitely think it’s a management/ owner issue not the employees. all in all i would try to avoid this location because it’s not worth the time or hassle you usually take for the mcdouble meal 😭

This McDonalds is so bad. I order a large fry, and at this point I might as well ordered a small. The fries are always cold. The mcchicken taste like the chicken has been sitting in their warmers for hours. The wait is terribly long just for you to be disappointed with your food. I 100% do not recommend this Mcdonalds. I will not be ordering here anymore.

I don’t usually give reviews but after today’s experience I felt I needed to provide the feedback. My kids were hungry so I thought I would go through drive thru quickly to get them something to eat. Why did it take almost 25 minutes to get food?! It took almost 8 minutes to even order food. It wasn’t that the line was long, they just weren’t taking orders in the line I was in. It took forever in between each car for someone to come to the intercom. When I finally ordered and drove through, they said the food wasn’t ready so I had to pull up to a separate window to wait for the food. I waited again for a good 8 minutes for the food. When I finally got the food, the girl left so quickly before I could validate I got everything. We were missing straws. I knocked on the window for like 10mins trying to get someone’s attention. No one came. I couldn’t go inside because I had my kids who are little in the car. There was an employee entrance and so I opened it and I said I’ve been knocking on the window for a really long time. Still no one came. I kept knocking on the window and finally someone came. At this point I was so frustrated. What was supposed to be a quick stop to get my kids food has now turned into a long ordeal. I told her how inefficient their process is and they really should be checking the bags to ensure they included everything that is needed. This is not the first time I’ve had issues at this location and I stopped going for a while. I was hoping they had improved but after today I realized management doesn’t care about their operations. The employees who work there do not care about providing good service. Their management clearly makes no attempt to improve their operations and customer service. I strongly recommend not going to this location.

Ordered my child a happy meal. When I got to the window I was told they have no fries and to go park in a numbered parking spot. I said no its okay ill wait, its just a happy meal. The lady then said I was being rude towards other customers waiting and continued to say if I didnt move she would be forced to refund me, I asked for a manager and was refused one, then was told I had to move now so they could serve the people who where behind me. Instead of arguing with a teenager I pulled forward. Waited 10min befor they came out with my kids happy meal. Also the fries ended up being cold. Very disappointing.

I came here on July 3rd, 2025 and ordered my food at the kiosk. When I went to the counter to pay the employee that helped me was very nice. He double checked to make sure that the information of how I wanted both my hamburger and my coffee were in fact correct. He double checked because he said the kiosk sometimes shows incorrect information. The staff at this location are fantastic and I reccomend you come to this McDonald's if you're in the Bowmanville area.
