Ordered a boneless goat roti medium spice. The flavour of the roti shell was perfect, the goat and curry was pretty good as well. Id return again.

Delicious and authentic food, so happy to have Trinidadian food in our community close by. Doubles and Boneless chicken roti with paratta dough is highly recommended. Wish they had phollouri balls.

This is probably the best roti spot you will find in Ontario, portions are huge, curry is wonderfully spiced and salted, even boneless meat is tender, dal puris are perfect, nice and squidgy, thicker than most other places, well suited to the massive amount of filling you get.

Bathroomms and tables were clean as a whistle, not a single thing I could complain about

We drove almost an hour away because we were craving a good roti and this place blows every other out of the water in terms of authenticity and deliciousness. Mel even came out to personally check on how we liked everything. Pictured is the bone-in goat with rice and peas, and the green curry it’s served in is incredibly flavourful and perfectly salted! Just sumptuous. We also had delightfully tamarindy doubles and the scotch bonnet sauce tasted freshly ground, which added so much brightness to the rich curry. We have found our new favourite place, thank you Mel for the hospitality and the love and passion you put in your food. It really comes through 💕

We had the bake and shark and unfortunately the meat was very tough. Like it was old. We found the king fish when we had it was great but very disappointed about the shark being tough.

We were looking for a tasty bite after our track day experience at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. So glad we stopped here. Food was incredible and the staff were super friendly. Highly recommend.

I had my fair share of curry goat in my lifetime. My girl and I went with their boneless goat with rice, as they were out of bone-in. We also ordered two gourmet doubles. One was chicken (hers) and I went with shrimp. We both enjoyed the goat and that shrimp double was bang on.

One of the few Caribbean spots in town. Food is well cooked and they have a big space for eating in.

Bought the Jerk Chicken lunch special and received a bone and less than a half of a container of rice . The last time I came here the quality and was off as well. I'll take the drive to Allwyn's for now on.

A Hidden Gem for West Indian Flavours!

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of dining at Mel Spice Thyme – Spice Island Cuisine, a fantastic West Indian restaurant. We tried the jerk chicken roti and all veg roti and doubles, and both dishes were absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic flavors and perfectly spiced.

We also had the chance to meet Mel, the wonderful host behind it all. She was incredibly warm, welcoming, and passionate about the food and the experience she offers. Her hospitality truly added to the charm of the evening.

While I did click a few pictures of the food, they didn’t quite do justice to how amazing everything tasted. But trust me, this place is a must-visit if you’re looking for a genuine taste of the Caribbean in the city!
