I've been coming to this place for years, it's my favourite restaurant in Bowmanville as well as the best Jamaican food I've found. They always remember my name which to me is the biggest mark of great customer service.

Order take out from here when asked about the sizing she showed me a plate an said this if how much you'll be get. Once she told me the price I should have just walked out $22 for rice an peas oxtail gravy coleslaw and platin. The rice was good but once I added the gravy it tasted horrible. Would definitely not recommend this place for take out. Like the girl at the counter sould have easily showed me the size of the take out container rather the a big dish. A lovely SIT DOWN West Indian restaurant in Bowmanville. My fav dish was the appetizer which we DEVOURED before I remembered to take a pic. Fish Fritters? I also requested a spiked Sorrel and man that hit the spot! The stew fish was Great! A little sweeter than I anticipated and my regret was it wasn't a take home plate so I can pick it up with my hands and suck every last piece of fish off the bone.My date had the Curry pasta and he says it was delicious!9 outta 10I will definitely return to try the other dishes.

Found this beautiful little gem while my friends and I were on our way back from a meeting and we all just felt for some Jamaican food. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, the ambiance was screaming mello Jamaica, so relaxed and welcoming. Also, the music added to the experience with consistent reggae music. We were greeted by Kristy who did her very best to ensure we were well taken care of all throughout our dining experience. Last but not least, the food was excitingly delicious, literally everything was on point; from the curry gravy, the pickle, the plantain, the saltfish fritters, the rice and peas, the fish and the jerk pork. I will definitely return. I highly recommend that you visit and have your own amazing experience.Side note: I get worried when I go to a Jamaican restaurant and receive great customer service because usually the food doesn't taste good/authentic, IYKYK. But they changed my perception, this is the first and only Jamaican restaurant that sells delicious food and provide great service with a beautiful ambiance.

Firstly, the unspoken customer service was impeccable. The hostess was very welcoming regardless being Jamaican. The logistics of the restaurant was excellent. THE FOOD WAS UNEXPLAINABLE !!!???20 out of 10.

I recently checked out Starapples Restaurant during their monthly brunch event. The whole experience from the moment we stepped through the door was fabulous! The servers were very friendly, accommodating, and added so much joy to the experience. The DJ during their brunch event was amazing. The art and decor in the restaurant creates a really colourful and relaxing atmosphere The food was a delicious take on some very traditional dishes and they have some unique creations too. The Ackee and Callalloo tasted fresh and well seasoned. Everything from their Tru Juice to their porridge to their bread pudding will have you coming back for more! I personally can't wait to go back and check out their dinner menu.Vegetarian options: Starapples has a good variety of vegetation, vegan and plant based options while staying true to authentic flavours. They have entrees and appetizers that are vegetarian.

This very nice establishment is cool, casual and classy. Customer service was excellent! Came here this evening on a first date so this review is super fresh like the saltfish fritters! They were fresh but could be fluffier inside. The curry goat was surprisingly great because I love irish and this restaurant actually put potatoes in their goat; I wish more Jamaican restaurants did this!!! Sadly, the white rice was bland and dry. They could also give more plantain with the meal. The coleslaw was fresh, creamy and good. If I'm in Bowmanville again, I may stop by to taste their oxtail and rice peas with a cold glass of their rum punch!
