Shoutout to Belle right off the top—she was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and just had everything dialed in. Checked in at the right times, kept things moving without rushing us, and even offered up a second coffee before we had to ask (huge bonus in my books). Food was exactly what you want from Swiss Chalet—hot, fresh, and bang on with the order. And the Chalet Sauce? Still undefeated. Restaurant was clean, comfortable, and had that classic Swiss Chalet vibe we go for every time. Big credit to Belle and the team—this is how it’s done. We’ll absolutely be back.

Their food is disgusting. They deep fry entire chickens and eat some of it he food before it even comes out. They don’t even know how to wash their plates properly gross. Don’t even waste your time coming here. If you really wanted to eat, Swiss chalet go to an other Swiss chalet this one’s disgusting.

Restaurant lost our order twice. We are finally driving there from Newcastle to pick up a third placed order. My entire life I’ve had issues with Swiss take out/delivery. It will never change unfortunately

My mom and grandma had an absolutely awful experience. Their waitress was not at all friendly and forgot numerous things. When she dropped off their salads, no cutlery was given for 15 minutes. The salads were small and dry. The waitress kept disappearing all the time and was not attentive. They then proceeded to wait another 15 minutes to get their food which you could tell had been sitting under the warmers for far too long as the food was cold and hard. So disappointing as this isn’t the first time this location has disappointed us. We will not be back.

We had an amazing experience and can’t say enough good things about Makayla and her team. We booked a birthday party for 35 people, which can be stressful to organize, but everything ran incredibly smoothly from start to finish. There were no mistakes with the order, the service was well organized, and every single dish came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious.
Makayla was outstanding — professional, attentive, and genuinely caring about making sure our group had a great time. She checked in regularly, handled everything with ease, and made the entire experience feel effortless. The rest of the team serving us was just as excellent: friendly, efficient, and always happy to help with anything we needed.
Hosting a group this large is no small task, but the staff handled it flawlessly. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was top-notch, and the food quality never dropped despite the size of our party. Our guests were extremely impressed and kept commenting on how great the service and food were.
A huge thank you to Makayla and everyone involved for helping make the birthday celebration such a success. We truly appreciate the care and effort put into our event and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to host a large group or enjoy a great meal with excellent customer service. We will definitely be back!
It is 2026 and STILL people find anything and everything to complain about. Shame it is a shame!! Ordered take out and the food was fantastic. Wife and I really enjoyed the burgers. Wait time was long BUT it is the only Swiss Chalet in the area - commmon people. Highly suggest this restaurant. And the front desk woman Emelia was amazing! 10/10

This place has gone so far down hill the last few years.
My family and I show up at 5:15pm, we were told it is a 25 minute wait. It is near Christmas so it is understandable that the wait could take longer than mentioned.
We end up waiting an hour and half in front foyer of the building, absolutely ridiculous.
Then we are seated. The table organizer seats us with no cutlery under a cold vent. To top it off the temperature in the building had to be negative the whole time we were waiting, eating, and leaving. The door was open almost the whole meal because they weren’t seating enough people.
The other person at my table couldn’t even eat her food as there was no available cutlery for quite some time. We had to ask 2 separate people for a knife and fork so she could begin eating.
We waited at least another 30 minutes for our food, it finally comes out and all of our food was cold. I ordered the chicken on a Kaiser white meat with fries, and the chicken was cold after the first bite. Next, I had to genuinely contemplate if my fries were even warm. How on earth can you survive as a business when you are barely seating anyone and are serving cold food.
It is literally chicken and fries how hard could it possibly be to mess up the most basic meal.
The server was nothing but apologetic for something that wasn’t even her fault, idk if the Bowmanville Swiss chalet recently got bought out by other people but the food was garbage and the wait was atrocious.
Won’t be back, waste of time and money. Don’t reccomend.
