Touchstone Resort

We had our wedding last weekend at Touchstone Resort, and everything was phenomenal. We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend, or a better venue. The staff at Touchstone made our day absolutely perfect.

Leading up to the big day, Michael who manages the restaurant and is the main contact for all things wedding was incredible. He was extremely communicative, worked with me through all the important decisions, and was so understanding when I had big asks of him and his team. The food he served us for rehearsal, cocktail hour and dinner were to die for. He helped us curate a menu that was exactly what we envisioned, looking for a high end dinner party vibe. Steak, seafood, oysters (absolutely delicious!), as well as accommodating allergies and some children. Our friends and family are still talking about the food. The fan favourite was definitely the cheesecakes for dessert and scallops 3 ways (bacon wrapped at cocktail hour, scallops as a starter, and more in the seafood topping on top of our steaks for dinner)! And anytime I turned around I had an espresso martini in my hand. The service, friendliness, and attention to detail by the Touchstone team was impeccable. Touchstone took care of so much set up and take down, and worked hand in hand with our wedding planner seamlessly to make everything look amazing. Our main goal was to be able to enjoy our day with our family and friends, stress free; and the staff at Touchstone, specifically Michael, played a huge part in making that happen.

During dinner service Michael, Tanya, and the team at Touchstone made sure the food came out hot, on time, and continuously checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. They were all so friendly and sweet. They made us feel like family!

We had so much fun during our wedding weekend, especially down at the party thank you to Brandon and Maryka. All weekend and throughout the wedding they were so involved with our group, and never missed a beat. Their energy, enthusiasm and just overall kindness was contagious and made the weekend all that much better. They constantly made me feel at ease, and took care of cleanup and take down after the party.

The venue was stunning, with the leaves just starting to change colour, overlooking lake Muskoka. The property was well maintained, with staff constantly tidying up outside and always nearby when people were ready to enjoy a campfire at the adirondacks. All the people who own the units that were onsite at that time were exceptionally friendly and inviting. Our room was very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. The concierge service was very helpful for getting extra towels and answering any questions we had. Our friends and family enjoyed the pool, hot tub, beach, paddle boats, and just in general the beauty of Touchstone. There was a lot to do, and everyone really took advantage to enjoy the venue itself. On the Friday, we went to the spa, and my fiancé (now husband!) and others went to the golf course across the road. Both were wonderful! The massages, manis, pedis and facials were top notch! Then we enjoyed the sauna, hot tub, and pool! There is also a steam room, but it was sadly closed for maintenance.

Overall we had a great time, Michael and his family and staff are just incredible, and our wedding was exactly what we pictured thanks to this wonderful group of people!

Will never go back. Our family rented a hilltop large unit only to be disappointed. The dinner quality and service was the worst ever. They forgot to place our order to the kitchen and left us sitting there with 16 people, no food, 4 babies screaming and managers who look like they're in their teens.

Go get Thai food and all sorts or other food locally if you ever stay here. I wouldn't waste your money on that garbage restaurant and resort. Beach was subprime and water full of seaweed.

After complaining, they offered us a joke of a future discount to entice a return visit to this dump.

Now they are trying to remove my family's reviews. I stayed there, had a horrible experience, and now they want to hide people's experiences from the public having google remove a legit review.

I did NOT ask for any money back or any type of compensation.

The one pool and hot tub were out of service the whole time we were there. We did get 8%of our bill for that reason but it did not quite make up for not having it.
The other pool and especially the hot tub are in dire need of repair. Both my husband and I cut our feet in the hot tub and my husband had 2 stone splinters.
The Beach is great lots of loungers and beautiful views.
The accommodation , we had a one bedroom, upstairs with a beautiful view of the lake is great, except their kitchens are not stocked very well. To my surprise there was no frying pan and no baking sheets.
I ended up buying a frying pan.
The bed is very comfortable and everything is very clean.
Oh yeah the steam room was also out of service.
If everything was fixed and they payed more attention to their kitchen inventory this place would easily be a five star resort. I hope they will work on it as I would love to go back.
The person I had for check in could use a little more customer service training.
Everyone else was super friendly and helpful.
All in all I would give it a 3.5star if I could in the state it is currently in.

Enjoyed our second stay here. Friendly staff, clean and cozy rooms. Text communication to concierge with daily info and able to ask any questions. Beautiful views. Highly recommend!

This was my second stay at this resort with my kids, this place is so amazing and they even have a beach right in front the beach house with an amazing view of muskoka lakes

The price you pay is definitely not worth the stay. The “resort” offers no breakfast at all, the front desk staff Emily was absolutely terrible, rude and seemed like she hated her job. Resort was completely empty and we were told they were super busy, lol. No one answers the phone when you call from your room. The picture of the smaller rooms are not the same that they give you. We ended up having to upgrade our room simply to get a desk and chair for business purposes. Beds and pillows are super uncomfortable! Lack of balcony privacy was an issue as well, and the shared entrance to your units is quite noisy when other leave/ enter their room. Again, for what they are calling it to be a “resort” should be better called motel. Definitely not worth the money you are spending in a room, especially since you are not even getting your rooms serviced/ cleaned even when the location is empty.

We stayed in 2 bed, 2 bath room with another couple. It was a great set up. We had a beautiful lake view. If you have mobility issues, make sure you ask for an appropriate room. Our room was 30 stairs up.

This resort is beautiful. The buildings are well kept, clean, and encapsulates cottage Muskoka vibes. Coming in the fall is amazing with all the leaves changing colours. This resort is also located near trails and other amenities, such as art galleries, museums, and historical buildings.

I would've appreciated knowing at time of booking that the restaurant and beach were unavailable because of a scheduled wedding. This is why I gave four stars on service.
