I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, I didn’t even get to try the food because of how I was treated. As a person of colour, I found the experience deeply disappointing and upsetting.
When I arrived, I was met by a middle-aged female server whose tone and attitude toward me and my group were noticeably cold and dismissive. What struck me most was how her behaviour sharply contrasted with how she warmly interacted with other (Caucasian) customers — offering them smiles, friendly small talk, and attentive service. In contrast, we received curt responses, no eye contact, and an overall energy that made it very clear we weren’t welcome.
What made it even more uncomfortable was seeing this same pattern happen again: three other people of colour came in during the short time I was there, and after receiving the same kind of cold, dismissive treatment, they ended up leaving without even finishing their coffees. That said a lot — and confirmed that this wasn’t just in my head.
It was disheartening to experience such a clear difference in treatment based solely on race. Dining out should never feel like stepping into a space where you’re judged or made to feel lesser for simply existing. Because of her unwelcoming and prejudiced attitude, I chose not to eat here and took my business elsewhere.
This kind of behaviour has no place in hospitality. I truly hope the management addresses it and works toward creating an environment that’s inclusive, respectful, and welcoming to everyone because right now, it’s not.

Went here with my 2 year old son, and he had an AMAZING time watching all of the planes take off and land so close to us. I have been recommending this place to all of my friends. The café itself is pleasant, and the food is good, but you're really coming for the experience. Expect to spend about $25 per adult for lunch and to have a great time!

The atmosphere is very nice. Especially during the summer . It’s a cute cafe located at Waterloo airport facing the runway. Perfect for spotters.
The prices are a little on the higher end and the food is okay. Nothing fantastic not bad.
One thing to note though the staff are very rude .. especially the lady with the curly blond hair. Both wait staff have no understanding of the word customer service and should not be allowed to work at a customer facing role.
Short of the staff, cute place to chill and spot planes at CYKF

Fantastic service, good food - prices are a bit high, but that's to be expected. Shout out to the breakfast crew!! So easy to ignore your patrons when it's slow, but they took great care of us. Hope I don't have to come back, but if I do I know it'll be worth it.

Amazing service, food, and view. Located right next to the Flight Centre, with dedicated parking. Reasonably large menu, with good prices and food quality. Recommend trying the hashbrowns, as they are amazing.

Great food and awesome service. Sat on the patio and it was a busy Saturday morning for planes and jets.
My grandparents are regulars here. When I go with them, I love that they don't even need to order, the server knows their food and drink orders! Always a great experience!

I always give a place 3 chances, and this last time was awful. It felt like I was an inconvenience for wanting to sit out on the patio. It’s lovely outside, and I didn’t mind that the chairs or table were slightly damp, no problem. I ordered my breakfast, which always good.. However, the staff never came back. I never got a refill of my coffee after being there for an hour. Never asked if I needed anything else. Never came to me with the bill. I made sure my spot was cleaned. Then went inside to the till, where my waitress suddenly appeared and cashed me out right away. Didn’t ask how my meal was or anything. Gave me my total, I paid and left.Absolutely disappointing. Especially since everyone I know loves this place. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.

Went here with my kid and parents, and everyone loved the food. Great place for show and great meal. Would recommend just looking at what time bigger planes are taking off and going for at that time
Parking: There is free parking just hard to find the first time. After easier to find but it is at an airport
Kid-friendliness: Staff was amazing with kids and even talked directly to my child what was really nice
