Every year, when I seasonally return to the Brighton Area, one of my first orders of business is to order takeout from China King. It's basically what you want and expect from Canadian Chinese takeout. All of the favourites: Spare Ribs, Chicken Balls, General Tao Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Chicken Fried Rice, Shrimp and Mushrooms, Chicken Lo Mein, Egg Rolls... Even the sweet and sour sauce is a perfect shade bright fluorescent orange! Anyone who rated this place less than 5 stars is just too fancy and probably shouldn't be ordering takeout anyway.

I do not like writing really negative reviews since I have to be aware that I'm potentially messing with someone's business and income, but in this case I feel I have to make an exception. We recently ordered from China King (egg rolls, Singapore lo-mein, shrimp with lobster sauce, and steamed rice). The egg rolls were okay, the rice, ditto, but the lo-mein and shrimp dishes were tasteless and really quite awful, basically inedible. We dumped those two dishes in the garbage and had cheese and crackers for dinner. I have no idea how this place can stay in business, either that or we ordered on a night when they had someone very inexperienced in the kitchen. We will NOT be returning.

It is take-out only now - so no great atmosphere but food is delicious & staff are friendly!

Place has great food. Never had a problem. Just sad it doesn't have dine-in. Only takeout. Friendly staff

Take out only. Battered shrimp was good, so was house fried rice.

Despite the poor reviews, we ordered the dinner for 5 and a few other dishes for our New Year’s Day dinner.
No complaints. Delicious, hot and very fresh.
The family agreed on a 4.7 star rating…
Will definitely order from here again TY

This place is the ONLY place you should go for Chinese food. Protip: Take a menu from their restaurant and keep as a reference to order in advance especially on holidays and long weekends. These guys are part of Brighton culture!!

Take out only. Ordered dinner for 4, it included sweet & sour balls, breaded shrimp, both so dried out we couldn’t eat. At $70 cash (less 10%) a very disappointing meal

We have enjoyed their hot, fresh, delicious food here for years! It is a hidden gem. They only offer take-out now (they used to have a buffet). Ample portions and authentic Chinese food flavour are what this place is all about. We ordered their "Dinner for 1", and, my photo here shows what you get transfered to a plate. Great value! I highly recommend this place!

Such a shame...it used to be our go to for local Chinese food but today has been such a disappointment that we will never go back. I ordered combination E for me and my daughter. With a can of pop each. I figured we could do a couple lunches from it each as the portions are always good. Sad to say most of our 35 dollar purchase went into the trash.

First off, the chicken balls were smothered in sweet and sour sauce. I have never had that on my chicken balls as it has always been put on the side. I can live with that because I didn't specify and maybe I should have. The vegetable lo mein noodles were crunchy and the chicken fried rice was so salty that it could not be eaten.

The egg rolls were burnt but we ate them anyways because we were so hungry.

The cans of pop were both expired by 10 months!!

I'm so disappointed but will never give them any more if my hard earned cash again.
