Awesome meal, atmosphere, service last night. The elk burger was in the top 3 burgers I have had in my life (it may even be #1, still debating). The atmosphere of the restaurant was awesome and had a canadian cottage feel, very welcome when getting away from Toronto. Had never even heard of pineapple pie until it was mentioned by our server. Curiosity led to ordering it and it was incredible. Would go back.

Wait service was crap!
Food was excellent!
Expensive for what you get
No water offered, nor bread, nor salad with meal
Surf n turf is steak with 2 scallop & veggies
Took an hour for our bill to come after requesting it
That's NOT fine Dining!!
Will not go back
Regarding your reply to this review... no need to be upset, we told the truth
I did not say I had a wonderful time by the way
If you would like more truth... my Husband's steak was over cooked, your 2 brands of Kraft beer's are not very good
Had no other option except for spirits
The dessert that took an hour to make, I might add, we did not want nor care for but thank you very much
Over priced for what we got especially for a restaurant (not fine dining) out in the boonies
The 4 of us were Not impressed but treated the staff with kindness as one should
Your website is misleading as far as fine Dining is concerned
The food was good
Not impressed with the service

We attended a large family gathering on the patio at On The Rocks on a beautiful, late September, Friday afternoon. We were treated to friendly, efficient service and a variety of interesting and delicious appetizers. The atmosphere is amazing. We all would highly recommend this spot to anyone interested in an enjoyable experience.

Had a tour of this hidden gem of a venue before the long weekend. Best patio view in the ottawa valley?
I really enjoyed meeting Gunnar and know there is a lot of heart, skill and good food and drink here.

Celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the restaurant. They warmly greeted our 45 guests with amazing food, drinks and service. They went beyond expectations. Wouldn't hesitate to return for regular or special occasion. Thank you Roger and Danielle.

On the shores of Lake Calabogie, On the Rocks Restaurant at Calabogie Lodge is a true hidden gem. The menu showcases impeccable dishes with a focus on local, seasonal ingredients.
We began with a chef’s pairing — two tasting plates matched perfectly with VQA wines by sommelier Holly — a fantastic touch. For the main, Lake Erie pickerel underscored the restaurant’s commitment to Canadian-sourced foods. Each dish was beautifully presented and flawlessly executed, with Holly’s wine selections elevating the experience even further.
Service was outstanding, and watching the sun set over Lake Calabogie made the evening unforgettable. A definite highlight of our trip.
