I recently worked with Gunnar and Holly to put together a dinner for my staff of 25. The set menu was perfect, the welcome cocktails were a hit, and the service was fantastic! The food itself? AMAZING! My staff are still raving about it and asking if we will go back next summer! Special thanks Holly for responding quickly to my questions and making the evening so wonderful!

Our go-to just outside Ottawa for high quality food, service and ambiance, specially during patio weather when you can sit outside and enjoy the amazing view on top of it. I've loved everything the Chef Gunnar and kitchen create! I recently had the prime rib burger and highly recommend. I was grateful for the beautiful portion of seasonal side veggies that came along with the burger and fries (if I had to pick one thing they could improve, it's the fries), and I also added a side ceasar salad, which was nicely saucy and so good. Also, try their signature cocktails or speak to their wonderful sommelier, Holy, for on-point recommendations. And keep an eye out for their special events! You really can't go wrong here. Highly recommended.

A hidden gem in Calibogie Ontario . I would say even borderline Michelin Star . They knocked my socks off . Gunnar /owner /head chef originally from Germany opened this pristine place 5 years ago . I will drive back there from Montreal just to eat there again and visit this beautiful region . We had the oysters which were delicious accompanied by homemade sauces . The tuna tartare was mouthwatering . Then the arugula salad also done to perfection . The steak/scallop/shrimp with vegetables and dauphinoise potatoes melted in my mouth with flavors of orange , lime and spices that were off the charts . They make a stuffed focaccia and serve it with the homemade butters . I opted to add the truffle fries with yet another homemade sauce and tried the delicious raspberry tiramisu for dessert which was outstanding and original. Colors accent every dish ! Bravo to the whole staff including Stephan at the bar , server Bryn and his sister the someliere.

This place has fantastic food, great cocktails and a spectacular view of Calabogie Lake. They a have pastry chef who makes incredible desserts and a wide selection of scotch, tequila and gin. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

We had been to the restaurant Dec 2024 and had a wonderful experience. For the first time in a long time I felt we received the quality and quantity we were paying for. I was so excited to go back, and we dined this past Saturday, June 14/25. For the $300 plus bill for my family of four, it was very disappointing. The food quality and quantity was quite frankly horrible for the price. This last experience has actually left me stating to my family this past weekend that I am done dining out and paying $200-400 for either basic or horrible meals. No one has that money any more in this economy to waste. For $60 my husband received a horrible cut of beef, one shrimp, and have a lobster tail and a small serving of au gratin potatoes and veg.

Atmosphere inside was lovely. My husband and I got the 'Steak Frites. '. The restaurant was recommended as exceptional. The fries are frozen French fries. The Aoli was homemade and good. The Steak was a very cheap cut, and had zero flavour. For a $40 meal I had much higher expectations. Maybe other food is good - but the Steak meal was far from worth the price.

We were looking for dinner in the area, but an important condition was that it had to be available for takeout. The chef was initially hesitant, as takeout can sometimes compromise the quality, but in the end, he agreed. We ordered six different meals, and everyone was very happy with the result. I had the duck, which is quite tricky to prepare well — but I can confidently say it was excellent. The duck breast was tender, served with a flavorful mango sauce and spiced pumpkin purée. If we return to this destination, this restaurant will definitely be a must-visit for us.

Really disappointing from start to finish. We checked out the menu online and were so excited for what seemed like a cocktail bar that was decently new. I ordered a gin martini with a twist or in the very least no olives or olive juice. I was told they could only make a martini extra dirty as it came in a mix. A martini mix? at a cocktail bar? I didn’t know they even made martini mix? Red flag #1 especially since I saw bottles gin and vermouth sitting behind the bar. I feel like the server could have asked for clarification if she didn’t know what drink I was asking for but I was told she was new and didn’t want to be rude, especially since the bartender looked quite busy and already said he couldn’t make a gin martini without olive. I ordered an aperal spritz off of the cocktail menu to be safe. It was shockingly sweet and probably also from a mix. Not terrible but I couldn’t finish it as it just wasn’t my vibe. Not a lot of options. As my main, I ordered the spaghetti dish and it was just alright. Tons of olives (Which I normally like) and a very salty sauce which I also couldnt finish. Garnish was really strange as well. It was just a whole green onion that was almost raw and a raw piece of what I think was raw bok choy maybe? It didn’t go with the dish at all. The Sausage was also really overcooked, but the pasta itself was decent. Now the restaurant was busy and I know our server was new but service was awful. It took over 45 minutes to get just the drinks for our table (and they were all from a mix so shouldn’t have taken thaaat long) and we had several servers jumping in to help out and apologize for our server as she was new and explaining that was why she was disappearing for long stretches of time or forgetting/inputting our orders incorrectly. Each time we asked a question about the menu like which dishes could be gluten free, our server disappeared behind the bar and didn’t come back and we had to flag down a new one to ask. We’ve all been new at our jobs once and could empathize but it did really affect the experience overall. The food took forever, which again makes sense because the restaurant was slammed, and they were sold out of a lot of options, which might’ve been better than the ones we got, but no one at my table of seven enjoyed their food (except for the truffle fries those were okay). We’re not picky eaters and are quite adventurous but nothing seemed worth the price or the wait. I’ve been reading some of the negative reviews to see if this was maybe a one off experience but I can tell from the owner’s defensive responses to each one that this is a place that takes itself way too seriously and over presents what they can offer. It’s more of a casual restaurant with a bit of a nightclub vibe, but don’t expect anything special in terms of food or cocktails and it’s definitely not gourmet fine dining. It works for a resort option but wasn’t worth the drive in at all.
