Karaoke Saturdays was fun. It is the best part of going up to Bolton. 🤣 The fish and chips Cajun style was a good portion but the bar gets crowded as it is a long bar vs wide.

Came in on a Monday night for dinner. The Pad Thai was excellent… just loaded with chicken, shrimp and veggies… served hot. Waitress was awesome as well. Don’t be fooled by the exterior… now our favourite place to eat in Bolton.

Been here many times. The staple British pub in Bolton. If you're looking for a drink, good food and good people, look no further.

Saw a good band play live there a few weeks ago. Good settings
Chose this pub to eat after seeing mainly positive reviews on G maps. All the comments were 'great food' and 'friendly, family run', which sounded great. The first thing that hits you as you open the door is the overwhelming smell of damp dog hair. We walked past a bar full of dogs and owners into an empty restaurant area which looked nice but the smell lingered. The menu looked good, seemed above average pub fayre from the descriptions. What we got was at best 'okay'. Chips were nice and had that homemade feel. Kids enjoyed their meals but eldest recognised that the sauce their meal came in was out of a jar. The Cumberland sausage and mash for £14 was the worst - 3 sausages identical to the 2 that came in the kids meal for £6 and some dry, bland, heated-up mash. It didn't deserve the price we paid. The toilets were disgusting. We found a dog hair on the table. At this point I checked the FSA hygiene rating - an appalling 2, "important necessary", and had been marked down on "cleanliness and condition of facilities and building". I realise now that they must have enough dog owning regulars to keep the good reviews flooding in. There's no way any person that cares about hygiene would write a good review of this place.
Fantastic Sunday Roast in the most beautiful country setting overlooking the reservoir. Will be back thank you for the warm welcome
