Went there for the Sunday brunch, and they just started a new menu that day. The food was really good, and the waitress we had was very attentive. We're going back soon to check out the dinner offerings.Parking: Lots of room out back

This is the most disappointing Chinese food I have ever had. The breading is mushy and soft, the sauce is watery and not very sweet at all, I can't believe I paid 27 for this and it doesn't even come with fried rice. 0/10

We have come here multiple times from everything like brunch, dinner to special events like NYE. We never have any complaints. The food is fresh, made perfectly and take into account allergies and work arounds. The price is more than a typical restaurant but totally worth it for the quality of food. Highly recommend the lamb.The chefs and staff are amazing. Will keep returning!

My sister and I came for a girls night out. We each ordered the 5-course tasting menu. Each course was timed out perfectly and food was outstanding. Our meal got better as each new course arrived. I am still unsure which course was my favourite because the flavour profiles were all so unique. The chef came out to speak with us three times during the meal. Chef Dennis is an amazing new addition to the Blackshop team. Our server Katie was incredibly attentive. You would never have known that there were three large parties going on in the restaurant. I will definitely be back to try more of Chef Dennis’ creations!!

My colleagues and I went there the other day to celebrate my birthday. The food was wonderful, and we had a lovely time, but what really stood out was the service. Our server's name was Kevin, and he truly went above and beyond, he was friendly, funny and patient. He cared about every person at the table ensuring things were just right for us all and ensured that our out of town visitors were treated to an unforgettable evening. Thank you Black Shop and especially Kevin, you are a gem!

Ranger Coach

It began with a request for a booth, for a special occasion. We arrived and there was no booth available. We were forced to sit beside couples right beside us, and the one gentleman was extremely loud. The menu is limited, and small portions, with not very good value. I was disappointed in the beef tenderloin. $53 for two 1/2 inch thick pieces, which I have never seen presented this way in a “fine dining” restaurant. It felt like they ran out of normal thickness tenderloin.They serve tenderloin with three onion rings, (cheap), and cabbage (also cheap).I asked for a sautéed mushroom alternate, and they said they had to charge. It was $11 for literally 3 mushrooms that you could barely see on your plate.Total cost was $64, plus tax and tip, for one entree, and I left hungry!Very disappointed!!! Meal tasted good, but nothing special with the sides that were offered especially. Onion rings, really???Most high end restaurants offer a side of some sort… I had to spend an additional $16 for a small Caesar salad that tasted nothing special. For one person to eat, it was $100 without drinks!!!In comparison to the Charcoal Steakhouse for the same money…Charcoal has far better value, larger portions and experience.Even Moxies substituted mushrooms a few weeks ago, and said “ABSOLUTELY happy to do that.” The mushrooms tasted much better and they gave us a really nice portion.We have eaten at Blackshop several times and this experience definitely felt different. I don’t recall the portions feeling so small for the money, and lack of accommodation for our seating request and food preference.

Walked in and walked out when we saw fois gras on the menu. We just will not support this. Over 12 countries have made this illegal, hope Canada will be next, it’s really sad.Edit: we did sit down and discussed this with staff in the restaurant before leaving!

Today was my birthday and this restaurant was phenomenal! The service is impeccable and i would suggest everyone to come here.Kayla was our server for tonight and she made my birthday dinner super special her pizzazz,Spontaneity and beautiful personality was a treat to recieve. Thank you so much especially the cook staff you guys killed it tonight everything tasted phenomenal!!!!!

7 star service and 7 star food absolutely amazing and worth every penny . Kayla is an amazing server and glad we got to meet her. Would recommend to anyone looking for fine dining.

This is our first experience with the new menu (April 2024). As usual, the service was 5 stars. Our server was very attentive and polite. The food took a little while longer than anticipated, but it wasn't anything to complain about. After all, it's not a restaurant chain focused on turning clientele as fast as possible. We'll definitely be back. There are more options on the new menu we want to try!
