I was in town for work and Smitty's came highly recommended by some locals. I was extremely satisfied. The price was slightly higher than most breakfast establishment, but it was well worth it. The quality of the food, especially the meat, was much better than most restaurants. The homemade soup was delicious and filling. My server, Melynda, was the most attentive and engaging server I have come across. Melynda was a superstar!! I can't wait to be back in town for another meal at Smitty's!

We went earlier in the week waitress was friendly but when it came to the bill I think she forgot we didn't pay we were sitting waiting for her to come with the debit machine and all she asked was do we want more coffee she served a couple behind us and thought she was coming to us and she didn't we even put our jackets on to give a hint and still no so I decided to go to the front and a older lady came from the bar area talking to someone and finally cashed us out but honestly we could have walked out with a $100plus bill and the waitress would never have known until it was too late

This Smitty's has maintained the same wonderful service and quality down home food for decades. It's always a pleasure to stop here when we visit Chatham.
An anonymous gifter offered my family a private room here between the visitations for the passing of my dad. The website got me really excited! The menu is online, fully accessible, and even includes up-to-date pricing! There are lots of posters all over the pages about how great the service is and how far they'll go to make sure you have a good experience.Our private room was terrific! The food was fantastic! I thought the prices were pretty fair all things considered.Unfortunately, the beer selection was non-existent. No draft, no craft, and no local. I know it's a franchise, but even if it's a sponsored franchise, you still got to support local in this day and age. There's no excuse for not doing it.My brother and I ordered jameson's, a treat for me which I haven't had in at least 4 years. Unfortunately, when our double Jameson's on the rocks arrived, it was a glass full of ice. All the whiskey was probably in there somewhere, but the drinks were ruined. We explained that the ice is mainly there to chill the spirit just a bit, and you cannot water down high end scotch. The server then proceeded to grovel at us, even though I assured her it was the bartender's fault and we knew she wasn't responsible. We sent the drinks back, but instead of replacing them properly, they filtered out the rest of the ice and sent them right back to us.Even before the incident with the watered-down whiskey, I was getting passed over for service, at the end, when I went up to pay for my pathetic drink, the server wouldn't talk to me. She kept going to my wife as if I wasn't there.So, it was a disappointing service experience, and I didn't have a whole lot of patience for it in light of what we were dealing with. I would be leery about trying this again, but if you are just looking for a decent place to sit down and eat and you don't care about what you're drinking, you will probably have a very nice time.
