I was passing by Chatham, Ontario and typed “best sandwich in Chatham” into Google. Sam’s Perculator was top of the list. What a great surprise! And I am actually a little upset that I hadn’t found Sam’s sooner.
Welcome greeting from Sam. Simple, easy menu. Lovely aroma and tasty baked goods lining the counter.
Sam took the time to quickly and proudly pointed out what ingredients were in season being used. Coffee is from a supplier in Toronto and roasted the night before delivery.
I chose the grilled chicken. Oh. My. Gosh. Oven fired pita. Grilled chicken, but in a chicken salad with spinach, cranberry & walnuts. A side of kettle chips and a peanut butter cup shortbread cookie to go. Yum!
Go to Sam’s. You won’t be disappointed.

Back to Chatham where I grew up for a birthday weekend. Was walking in my old haunts and came across this cute little coffee gem. Maryanne was so delightful. Not so much a specialty coffee shop as it is an amazing shortbread cookie house. The coffee was delicious and hot. It was the perfect stop after my walk. Maryanne was so friendly and she bakes such amazing shortbread with so many different flavours. She took her mothers shortbread recipe and has made many yummy cookies to appease anyone's palate.Maryanne even warmed up my coffee cup. Fantastic service - so welcoming. Thank you Maryanne for making my weekend that much more memorable.

I was just walking by to do my daily chores. Stopped in for a coffee. Then decided on breakfast. Both were good and fast. Purchased some raw honey and a fresh ginger molasses cookie. Very friendly staff and patrons. I'll be back.

The food is all made from scratch & excellent. It gets really busy for a small shop with limited hours so I suggest you call early to take out. 2 tables available to eat in if you are not in a hurry.
