WR Detasseling is an amazing company to work for. Even though the work isn’t easy it’s a great experience. It’s one of the only jobs available for kids under 15 and allows people there first look in the work force. It also teaches you hard work, team work, respect, and responsibility that pays off with work experience on your resume and a nice cheque. The only thing better than the money is the supervisors and friends you make.

I didn't enjoy almost getting heatstroke and a feeling that I had been left behind and forgotten about in the middle of the cornfield on my first day. I was sore everyday, sometimes i was unable to walk. The people were okay though, made some friends so it wasn't all that bad after awhile. I wouldn't work again, but once I got into it, it was a bit better.

This company confirmed employment in writing for my daughter. Two phone calls were made during the detasseling season to find out when she would be called and we were told that the call would come within two days for her to report for work. This negative review is due to the fact the call in never came. My daughter would have sought employment early in the summer elsewhere if they would have been honest. I have two nieces that had the same experience. It seems this company tells more people than they require that they are hired in order to have reserves for no shows/people who quit/people who are fired. Dishonest company.
