Golden Pine Chinese Restaurant

I went to pick up the lunch special for my son. When I got to the counter, it looked like the special was $10.95 and included a drink. Not only did we not get a drink, but no napkins, eating utensils, or soy sauce! I had ordered white rice and she gave me fried rice. My son said the food was just okay.

The best chinese food I eaten in quite some time. So fresh. The portion size was amazing. I ordered the Combo 2. I can't wait to go back .

Food was satisfying...better than most in the surrounding area. Would recommend combo 9! Chicken balls were good. Spare ribs, too sweet! The owners were very sweet!

Ordered for Christmas Dinner ($120) and food was ready for scheduled pick up time. Chicken Balls & Deep Fried Battered Shrimp had way too much batter. The Pad Thai was tasteless. The Pepper Steak was decent. Our Orange Chicken was only Chicken in some sort of bland sauce. The Special Fried Rice was just okay. Our order of Chicken Lo Mein was really good. The meat and the vegetable spring rolls were average. This was my first time trying this place and I’m unsure if I would try it a second time.
Attached Photo: this was the Pad Thai and I thought at first it was shredded carrots because of the colour. I’ve never had Pad Thai taste or look like this…..very odd!!!

The best Chinese takeout anywhere near Bowmanville, (and Bowmanville is a 15 minute drive away). We moved from a city that had a Mandarin, and Golden Pine is equally as good if not better. Be patient when calling, English is not their first language - but they are super nice and you won't be disappointed.

Everyone raves about how good it is, but I found it a bit below average. Flavour wasn't particularly memorable at all. I'm not sure why someone would glowingly recommend this place.

I ordered deep fried white fish in black beans sauce and Shanghai chicken noodles. It was the most disgusting food I’ve tasted in my life. Instead of deep fried fish it tasted like deep fried batter, the noodles had absolutely no taste. The fortune cookies was old and soft. Even the spring rolls I ordered was cold and soft inside. The only good thing was the soy sauce.

Place looks run down and smells like it is rat infested in there. Trust me I know what that smells like because I work in ac/heating and I’ve been in rat infested homes. I’m surprised this restaurant has passed and is able to operate. My dog has even refused to eat this food. Save your money people and avoid this place. Worst yet, the lady that answered the call refused to accept and apologized and instead was arguing. This place is a joke! Try places like Fredrick’s in Scarborough, Fine Taste in Ajax or Tangerine in Whitby for quality food and friendly staff

Prices are almost Double what is listed!

Ordered the General Tao chicken, chicken balls and mixed veggies. General Tao was crispy and sauce was delicious. The chicken balls were also amazing, not too much dough like most places. And the mixed veggies were in great flavourful sauce. Highly recommend this place, my new go to spot for sure!

Service was great , they were very friendly. However food was completely tasteless ! I ended up throwing it out which sucks but I couldn’t eat it .
