Visited there for breakfast this morning. Was a great way to start the day. The owner recommended Floods Landing Campground as we asked about places to see. Was excellent and so glad it was recommended. Stunning scenery.

We were really impressed with the service and food at The Yellow Bars in Cochrane, ON. We stopped to spend the night during a crazy rainstorm, deciding to get a motel instead of camping. The Yellow Bars was in the railway station, which was fun, and its small tasty menu was perfect for us! Highly recommend.

I pre ordered the bannock pizza, I had veggie style and I have to say it didn’t disappoint. Probably the best toppings all of cochrane, they didn’t cheap out and you could actually get a good mouthful of veggies which I loved. The staff were so kind and went above and beyond when placing the order. I will definitely be ordering again and recommend trying the pizza. You won’t be disappointed. I look forward to trying other menu items and excited to watch this business grow. ☺️ This restaurant was much needed in Cochrane. Hoping they add more indigenous based dishes. I think it would be a hit. 10/10

I only ate here once and I won’t be returning. Very disappointed with the breakfast, scrambled eggs were overcooked same with the bacon. The bacon was dried up and crunchy. Coffee was way too strong and needed lots of cream.

From time of order to time of eating took just under an hour.

I had genuinely high hopes for this place, but it was nothing except disappointment after disappointment. I ordered the burger which was exceptionally small, overcooked, and came with the most pathetically thin fries. I asked for mayo on the burger and gravy on the side, but they forgot it. No problem, I simply asked again. Sadly the gravy is cheap packet gravy mix; not even home made. This sorry excuse for a meal cost me $30. I also had a ceasar that was so watered down that I questioned whether they even added alcohol. When I mentioned my disappointment on their Facebook page about the lacklustre service and food, they banned me from their page stating they “wanted to promote positive vibes”.
It’s sad to see such a promising place with so much potential tank so hard. This place is a joke; they serve pathetically small portions and cheap quality food for premium prices. There’s absolutely no “positivity” about this place at all.
Do yourself a favour and don’t waste your money here.

The Yellow Bars: A Masterclass in How Not to Run a Restaurant

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We came to The Yellow Bars in Cochrane expecting a decent meal, and instead got a long, frustrating lesson in patience for $160.

It took over an hour for four burgers to make their way out of the kitchen. One fish order managed to arrive charred to oblivion, with fries that were stone cold, as if they’d been cooked when we sat down and then left to wither. The only thing that came out on time was the toddler’s dish which, while a small mercy, just made the wait for the rest of the food that much more absurd.

The “beef tenderloin burgers” were the biggest insult of the night. Advertised as something special, they were, in reality, more hamburger filler than tenderloin - misleading at best, dishonest at worst.

For $160, I expect to be served promptly, to have my food cooked properly, and for menu descriptions to be accurate. The Yellow Bars failed on all three counts. Between the glacial service, overcooked fish, cold fries, and deceptive menu items, I can’t see any reason to return, unless you enjoy paying fine dining prices for subpar diner food delivered at a snail’s pace.

Save yourself the frustration. Eat anywhere else.

No long waits for food & staff are friendly. Beer is cold & food is good.

It would be nice if the tables got wiped down between customers, and not just the dirty dishes taken away.
