Golden Rooster Restaurant

The Golden Rooster in Colborne is a wonderful, if very unreliable restaurant. Two out of three times I try to call in an order (during regular business hours), they don't answer the phone. And there's no voicemail. On the rare occasion I do get through the service is quick and friendly and the food is fabulous. Maybe they just don't answer the phones when they're busy, but I'll just quit trying. It's a shame. This little town needs a decent restaurant.

I've gone here three times. First time was good, no complaints. We had a share platter.2nd time, I had poutine to go and it was delicious, lots of extra gravy and cheese.3rd time, I asked how big the portion of calamari was, got told by the waiters/hostess that it was big enough for her and her partner to share and be full, I ordered one for take out just for myself, for 9.99$ + tax I received 13 tiny pieces of calamari, all rings, with 2 pieces with tentacles. Menu variety, I am particularly fond of the garlic jalapeno chicken. Have tried the Indian items on the menu and found them tasty and spicy. The burgers are delicious. Would like to see more variety in the beers, especially with craft beers and stout.
