When arriving we were greeted kindly by the hostess desk. While waiting for the table we were directed to the bar. We sat for at least ten minutes without being acknowledged or even looked at...seemed like our presence was an annoyance to the bartender. Once another staff member walked behind and talked to us we asked to order a drink....he asked the server to serve us and once again she seemed highly bothered ....we did not have a drink at the bar while waiting and we were quite put off. The waiter of our table was friendly...food was ok wings were huge but almost too big nachos were great and my son enjoyed his burger. Overall not the experience we were looking for and after reading all the wonderful reviews we are a little confused!

I have been going to Northwinds in Collingwood since it opened. In my opinion, it has the best pub atmosphere in town, really great beers many of which come in a patriotic 20oz format, and the wait staff are unfailingly friendly and knowledgeable. The food prices are a bit steep, but the food is usually tasty and plentiful. Any complaints I have about the place are all recent. One, don't shrink happy hour. 3-6 is a nice comfortable window, but 3-5 pinches the possibility of happiness -- most people don't finish work by three and many finish around five. Two, what's with the corporate uniforms, the whole dystopian tunic thing? When the staff used to simply wear a product T and jeans the whole vibe was chiller, more apres ski. Third, while it is not the fault of Northwinds staff that there are misbehaved kids in the world, it is their responsibility to tell uninvolved parents not to let their spawn run around unsupervised. A family eating and talking and laughing together is a beautiful thing, but adults on their phones while their kids play hide and seek in the restaurant is annoying. Lastly, I know public tvs are unavoidable, and to its credit Northwinds has always had fewer screens than most places, but now there is a lot more mainstream programming than there used to be. The old skiing and extreme sport reels were interesting and added positively to the Northwinds atmosphere in a way that golf and poker do not.

We are visiting from out of town and decided to try Northwinds… and WOW! The personal pizzas were amazing and huge! Beer skateboard flight gave us the ability to try all of their wonderful beers! Chantal our server was excellent and we were able to buy beers on the way out to enjoy at home!

The Best Wings in Town – Perfect for Carnivore!
If you haven’t tried the duck-fat (tallow) fried wings at Northwinds, you’re missing out. Hands down the BEST wings in Collingwood—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of rich flavor that’s perfect for anyone on a carnivore diet (or anyone who just loves amazing wings). No sauces needed, they’re perfection on their own. - sea salt & pepper were amazing
On top of that, the staff is fun, welcoming, and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. Great vibes, great food, and absolutely my go-to spot when I’m craving something hearty and satisfying.
Highly recommend—five stars all the way!

Very tasty burgers and brews. Recently visiting from BC. Glad we came here! The smash burger was great, and I had a flight. My faves were the pale ale, English IPA and the sour. Great value for how much food you get! Will for sure be back.
Moderately busy on a Thursday and seemed to get busier as we were there. Great place, look forward to the next visit.

The blonde stout is so strange and wonderful at the same. Dill pickle smash burger also recommended. 100% worth it for beer drinks

I got their burger with fries and I must say that the amount of food they give you is quite generous! I also love how they season their food. I got a mojito with my meal, but you can also buy cans of beer here to take home. I would recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
