This restaurant is 'simply' THE BEST restaurant in Collingwood...👍 The ambiance & overall decor of the restaurant makes you want to linger a little longer over drinks & food...🥘🍸 I had the Salmon 🍣 served piping hot in a beautiful presentation in a black dish..Delish!!.. My man had the Butter Chicken Curry & also delish....& the server Colin was friendly & efficient... We just LOVE Prime 79... & one more thing... The owner/manager Sylvain is just wonderful ... 8 of us out celebrating our friend's birthday and of course we chose Prime 79. Cocktails were delightful, the food was on point! All 8 of us we're raving about our choices. The dessert was the perfect, delicious way to end off the night. Another amazing group outing!

First of all, we arrived on time and there was no record of our OpenTable reservation. Fortunately, it was not a busy night but it could have been a major disappointment given that we were celebrating. Our waitress was terrific, had a wonderful sense of humour and service was timely but she was run off her feet. Not quite enough staff? The food was disappointing. Our Caesar salad was flavourless. Our steak was perfectly done (Medium Rare) but the meat was gristly. Tough texture, challenging to chew. The wine list was very limited and pricey. Fries were good! Overall, the experience was pleasant enough but I'd be hard pressed to recommend. Roadhouse quality beef.

Took a chance based solely on reviews. So glad we did. Turned out to be well worth it. The service, food and surroundings were well beyond our expectations. Would definitely recommend Prime 79 for couples, small or large gatherings. We both had the Tuscan Chicken pasta dish. It's not often I come across a dish where I can't wait to get the next fork full into my mouth! We'll be back next time we're in Collingwood. Thank you!!
