While restaurant hopping today, I have decided that Subway is one of my top choices for food whether it’s for lunch or dinner, or anytime at that matter.
I have gone to both locations in Collingwood and can confirm that all of the staff are attentive and that the food never misses. It’s a classic and is always a very quick and customizable experience. It is always well staffed, with the same regular staff at both locations and I enjoy having a quick conversation with most of them. My husband, kids and I will always enjoy a quick meal from here and so do a bunch of people I know.
For anyone visiting or that are interested in moving to Collingwood, the Subway on First Street is a great option if you are looking for a great, stuffed sandwich for a reasonable price, while the one next to CCI is another great option for any students at CCI/ Our Lady of the Bay and anyone really!
Overall, I can guarantee that Subway will get the job done.

Subway on First Street is a solid choice for a quick and customizable meal. The ingredients always seem fresh, and the staff are pretty efficient and hard working, even during busy days. I love that you can build your sandwich exactly how you want it, and the bread options are a nice touch. It's not gourmet, but for a fast-food sandwich, it definitely always hits the spot. Plus, it's a great value for the price.

5 star location, atmosphere, cleanliness… 1 star food preparation and service… I now go to Mr Sub exclusively, allow me to explain… To start, the employee working front counter was in what appeared to be a quite negative mood, rude demeanour, with no care for operations of her position. I asked for a turkey 6” on Italian. Everything she said to me was in a low tone grumble, looking down towards the counter, not towards myself. I could not understand her and had to ask her to repeat herself several times. It appeared as though she didn’t even want to be there that day. When we moved to the topping station, things only got worse. Instead of the sandwich artist normally staffed by Subway locations everywhere this individual had no intentions of putting together my sandwich with any kind of care at all. I asked for lettuce, pickles, onions, peppers mayo mustard. Nothing was spread out, just grabbed handfuls pressed into the centre of the sandwich. When I asked for them to be even out across the sandwich I was grumbled at and the picture provided with my review will show you what I got. This is not a difficult order to put together. I held my composure did not react asked for my receipt because I did not receive one. My sandwich artist was not wearing a name tag. Needless to say, I did reach out via email to the store manager/owner And was never replied to. I gave ownership management opportunity to make good. They did not therefore I feel that this review became necessary. These sandwiches are very expensive for what you get. This was not worth what I paid for. I will not be going back. This individual works at both Collingwood Subway locations and I try to avoid this individual because every single time this individual makes absolutely horrible sandwiches. So this leads to me to the conclusion obviously ownership/management of these Collingwood locations feel that her performance meets or exceeds their expectations because her performance is allowed to continue. Or she has never been properly audited on her workplace performance. Either way, I’m pretty sure that this would not be up to subways corporate standard. This has been going on a long while. This is the first time I’ve reached out with complaint. There was an individual who was working in the back of house, I really wish that individual head have been on front counter. not the person that I got.
I’m willing to bet that the owner manager is going to reach out in response to this review with the standard mumble jumble of how they’re sorry that I had a negative experience blah blah blah. Truth being I reached out they didn’t bother to reply. Subway had their chance so don’t bother replying now.

Not once I have I now been able to get food past 11pm even though it states it’s open till 12 midnight!! I get off at 11 pm and unable to go after work to get my dinner!! Not impressed. It’s been closed multiple times now before the stated time! Very unfortunate

Although the restaurant was clean and tidy in the customer area. The customer service was lacking severely and has been lacking since owners changed. Also, Subway used to have a way that they would make their sandwiches that every sandwich was made exactly the same. It looked appealing. It looked tasty and now they just slap the meat on wherever not to the ends not necessarily to the middle just kinda all over the place and don’t say anything to you. It’s actually Unsettling. I don’t think I’ll be giving Subway any of my business any longer. I’ve tried numerous times assuming that things have gotten better waited months in between visits. Nothing has changed. head office used to come in to Subway, restaurants monthly, or every three months to see how things were being done and clearly they have not been to this one because things are lacking significantly. It’s sad the previous owner was amazing. The staff was amazing and the cleanliness of the food and the restaurant were perfect.
