Don’t bother with this place. Horrible experience

Very cute atmosphere (small number of tables) and every dish is an art piece that tells a story. A rollercoaster of wonderful flavours and each bite is better than the last. We went for our anniversary, and would definitely go again!

We’ve been eating at The Pine since they were starting up in Collingwood. From our first visit, we have said they are worthy of a Michelin Star if their reviewers ever went north of Toronto and they deservingly got there star shortly after moving to Creemore. Incredibly creative and focused on details and depth of flavours. They are starting to diversify their tasting menu so one can go back more than once or twice a year and not have the same dishes now that Jeremy has a bigger kitchen and more tools to work with.

Best Michelin restaurant so far. Words cannot describe the food, the service, the setting... everything. Asian inspired take on so many food items; we upgraded and had 20 (!) courses. Started off even with Asian warm wet cloth to wipe our hands; some of the courses needed to be felt with your hands. The titles of each course was interesting. Head chef even took time to speak to us; gave authentic story behind the restaurant and shared his culinary vision. You will have to experience it for yourself. Even the palate cleanser was so refreshing. Would love to return.

𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬: 𝐀𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐞

The space is bright, open, and welcoming, yet still feels intimate. The staff are truly exceptional: friendly, attentive, and working with a level of coordination that almost felt like I was watching a performance. It was honestly one of my unexpected highlights. You can feel how much love and care goes into every detail.

We got their 20-course tasting menu with the non-alcoholic drink pairing, and it was such a thoughtful journey. Every dish focuses on local, sustainable Canadian ingredients, each component designed to add depth, texture, or contrast. You’re not just tasting food; you’re tasting art, the decisions, the craft, the hours of trial and error behind each bite. The flavours are rich, bold, and expressive. It was a little heavy for my personal palate, but still such a fun sensory trip. The drink pairing was definitely needed to help reset between dishes and keep the experience balanced. Each sip was just as creative as the food. (I could honestly see myself buying their drinks by the jug if they ever offered lol)

I don't want to spoil your experience with The Pine if you're planning to visit. But if you leave your familiar expectations at the door and come with an open mind, you’ll have an incredible time. You don’t go to The Pine just to eat. You go to experience, explore, and appreciate the craft behind Canadian ingredients reimagined by an amazing chef and team.

A truly fun night!

The Pine – “Story of Our Landscapes: Abundance” Tasting Menu

If Narnia, a Nordic spa, and an art museum had a baby and raised it on heirloom produce and philosophical tasting notes, it would be The Pine.

We did the Story of Our Landscapes: Abundance menu — a multi-chapter edible autobiography of Ontario told through foraging, fermentation, and things I’m pretty sure the chef coaxed out of the forest using witchcraft.

Let me start with this:
The service? Impeccable.
Every server had a charmingly exaggerated quirk — the kind where you’re genuinely invested in watching them perform the dish’s origin story like it's dinner theatre. The extra twirls were on point.

The lighting?
Honestly, a chef’s kiss. Perfectly angled so your food looks like it’s about to be shot for a Michelin calendar. Zero shadows. Zero regret selfies. Peak photogenic eating.

The food?
Beautiful. Thoughtful. Artistic.
And… occasionally so rich it tried to tuck me into bed. A couple dishes veered into “cloying” territory — like they wanted to hug my tastebuds and accidentally smothered them with love.
But that’s on me: my palate is still basically a golden retriever that thinks salt is daring.

That said, the creativity is undeniable. You can tell every plate has a backstory, a thesis statement, and maybe a master's degree. Even the snacks looked like they were curated by a Scandinavian interior designer with a moss budget.

All in all:
It’s an experience. A journey. A sensory TED Talk. And worth the pilgrimage.

I didn’t understand every dish…
but I appreciated the ambition, the execution, and the sheer beauty of it.
And I totally ate everything like I did understand it.

Best bites for me were the venison dish and the dim sum bites.

Outstanding meal and service, their star is well-deserved. Obviously amazing food but the real highlight is the staff from Chef on down. Lovely group of people!

Our second time at The Pine, and second time at the chef’s table.

Decided to drop a review to let the world know how great our experiences have been.

It’s hard to say what leaves a larger impression on you—the people or the food—because they are balanced, and both extraordinary, in a global context.

Local ingredients are the Pine’s thesis, and it’s fascinating to see all of the ingredients in their format, texture, combination, and layering. It’s all very intentional, and to enjoy the experience of dining at The Pine more than once allows you to see the iterations or variations of various dishes and the innovation of new dishes. It’s nice to have a balance of both.

Let’s talk more about balance.

People—the welcoming words, the accessible language, the explanations, the openness and welcoming of questions, the care in every detail of being world-class hosts. All of this creates a balance of addressing the spectacle of the food at hand without being pretentious in any way.

The food itself is complex but strikes a balance of being accessible, with many familiar or “fan-favourite” flavours and the showcasing of local ingredients. It’s a testament to accessibility and executing delicious food when we enjoyed 19 courses so thoroughly with six different people.

We sorted transportation to and from Toronto that allowed us to enjoy the wine pairing offered—which was well thought through to complement the courses served, and took us through a variety of regions, many of a northern latitude. Well-communicated and novel choices that contributed to an experience I’d encourage others to opt for.

A thousand thank-yous to the team at The Pine, again.

I drove an hour and a half north to a quiet little town for a farm-to-table Chinese fusion dinner — a spot I’d wanted to try since their Collingwood days.

The warm wood interior and relaxed vibe were lovely, and sitting at the Chef’s Table made the whole experience more engaging. Watching the team prep and plate added so much character to the meal.

I’m usually not big on “Westernized Chinese cuisine,” but Chef Jeremy trained in Shanghai for years and clearly understands Chinese flavours. He reinterprets them with Western ingredients — quail, venison, lamb rib — and focuses heavily on sauces to build layers. I didn’t judge it with a traditional Chinese palate, and honestly, several dishes delivered pleasant surprises.

The 18-course menu drew inspiration from different regions across China. Not every dish fit my taste, but more than half were genuinely good.
The fried dishes were the highlight — clean oil, perfect timing, crisp and not greasy. Big thumbs-up.

Plating was thoughtful, each dish came with its own little card, and the staff explained the inspiration behind each course. At the end, they even handed us a handwritten card signed by the whole team — a very sweet touch.

A memorable dining journey overall.

Pictures speak louder than my words. I would typically do a detailed dish review. But have to say this place is more than perfect. Everything I tried I enjoy so much.

I have tried pretty much all Michelin restaurant in Toronto. This is my favourite one in Canada for sure.

Took me 4 hours drive for round trip. But totally worth it. Way better than the 3-star I tired in New York City.

I went 3 weeks ago, now already wanna go again.

Btw, cocktails are delicious too. Amazing amazing place.

OMG, that's all!
Ok maybe a little more to say, of all the Michelin experiences I have had this was by far my favourite! Chef Jeremy and his team are brilliant...it was like a well choreographed play with flavours, textures and visuals that just blew my mind!! The team was outstanding, so friendly, knowledgeable and went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing experience. The 20 course tasting menu and 7 wine pairing is a must try!
Thank you Chef Jeremy and team, we will definitely be back!

Fortunate to have lunch with good friends. The food, its flavours, creativity and presentation, were exceptional with the service being a perfect balance of formality and fun. Great overall vibe and absolutely worth the drive to Creemore. Highly recommend.

Food is beautifully presented and sometimes playful, like the oyster dish that had oyster elements except the actual oyster. Found another way to enjoy lobster, which is my favourite food. It was grilled and perfectly cooked.
