I was honestly totally surprised at how great this place was. I thought a small town restaurant preparing high end meals was just another touristy money grab. Was I wrong. The food is reasonably priced and it is outstanding. I will absolutely return and recommend this place to anyone.Hats off to the chef and wait staff as they were courteous and polite. We were there for lunch and I had a burger and salad. I have never experienced a burger like that in my 70 years on this planet. The house salad dressing is also amazing.

Two complaints one is no liver was available at 530pm ?? Beginning of supper . I was very disappointed. Next was the cost of $68 for the stuff salmon , it was delicious but overpriced, very small portion . Excellent service.

Date and time of visit10 Feb 2024 @ 7 p.m.Most disappointing.. after reading the reviews I had high expectations, but that did not last long. We were not made to feel welcome. We were made to feel like we were an inconvenience to the server.A larger party of eight, we were told they would take another tables order first even though we were there and seated a full 15 mins before them so they did not have to wait. The service just continued to go down from there. Two of the eight meals were sent back because they were physically cold. When this was identified it resulted in a bit of a huff and an eye roll from the server. It should be noted that this was not the young servers either.Every time we asked for something for instance a drink, it was accompanied with an eye roll and a sigh. The food over was good not fantastic but good. Not what I expected from the caliber of chef. I will tip my hat however to the ahi tuna it was very well prepared. The rating would have been much higher if there had been even average service but this was so sub par that rest assured none of the 4 couples will ever return and you can be certain that Chez Michel will not be recommended.Dietary restrictions: Dietary restrictions were well looked after by the chef

Went to Chez Michel recently and came away feeling like it didn't live up to its high prices. You'd think for what they're charging, you'd get top-notch service and outstanding food, but that wasn't the case. Starting off on the wrong foot, the hostess barely acknowledged us upon arrival, just pointed towards our table without a word. It felt unwelcoming and set a poor tone for the evening. A hostess is the entry to a restaurant and should be friendly and warm, in this case she couldn’t even be bothered to bring us to our table. Our server, while friendly and putting in a lot of effort, clearly seemed to lack formal training. It was like he was trying to juggle without knowing how to keep the balls in the air. You could tell he was doing his best, but there were gaps in his knowledge and formal skill, which you wouldn't expect at a place charging these prices. As for the food, it was a letdown – pretty much average and not memorable. With those prices, I was hoping for dishes that would wow me, but what we got was more on par with what you'd expect at a neighborhood bistro, not a high-end restaurant. In essence, Chez Michel needs to either seriously up their game in both food quality and service to justify their prices, or adjust their prices to reflect the bistro-level experience they currently offer. Right now, it feels like they're stuck in the middle, not fully committing to being either a fine dining establishment or a casual bistro, and it's the customers who are losing out.

Superb lunch dinning experience: staff made us feel welcome, they provided plenty of information about the menu. Food was delicious; stuffed burger and risotto done to perfection. Meeting Winston was the cherry on the cake, he came to our table to thank us for complements on the food; he is very caring and welcoming host. We enjoyed our time at Chez Michel. Thank you to Chef Winston and staff. We will definitely go back to enjoy his food made with love!!!!!

We are regulars and the food and service keep us coming back time and time again. Amazing new menu and specials. Smoked duck breast is nothing like any duck you have had before. So glad the community is supporting this great establishment.

Our server was excellent and was very enthusiastic in describing the menu items. My wife had the liver and I had the Pork chop. Our meals were both excellent with delicious sauces to complement the taste. We were not rushed which led to an excellent evening.

What a wonderful evening. It is a challenge to impress a chef, and everyone did this, to this chef. It was a birthday to remember. Thank you so much chef Winston. Can't wait to come back.

Amendment to original review-I want to say thank you for responding to this and having a professional conversation with me. It was much appreciated. I will definitely consider coming back again. Thank you!I was really excited to finally try Chez Michel after moving in the area. It was my partner’s birthday. I made reservation a week in advance on Open Table. There was an inquiry also as to what the occasion was for. We arrived to our 5:45 reservation on Saturday- our table was not in the main dining room area, rather a round table awkwardly pushed into a corner right under bar and cash register area. First, we had to move the table ourselves- imagine going to fine dining and having to rearrange the furniture? My partner’s head was practically resting on the bar ledge. Our server told us that the table should have been moved before and she quickly went to help us. I was disappointed to not have been in the main area for the ambiance but tried to find positives about the situation because we were told it was first come, first serve. All I was looking at though was the wait staff coming and going into bar area and quite a bit of noise and someone yelling the number 4 (??). I decided to move again to find a better position at this bad positioned table. Dinner was good (my chicken was slightly overcooked) and my partner had the lamb that was an astonishing $75 which we were not aware of prior to ordering. There was no mention of the birthday for which were celebrating and it we felt abandoned by our server at the end (we didn’t even get a thank you or goodbye) and had to ask someone else to take our payment. When you are spending that much money on a meal that was not outrageously better than other places, this was extremely disappointing.
