My neighborhood Irish pub and bar is back in full force and Irish eyes are smiling! After closing for major upscaling, Dowling’s is the place to be these days in the Roselle Park, Cranford, Elizabeth and surrounding towns in the area and beyond. The staff is the friendliest and most efficient crew any restaurant can have; the food is always fresh and delicious, and the Irish ambience is unparalled, I’ve been in Ireland many many times and I may as well be back in Dublin, in Limerick, or even Kilkenny when I step through those doors. Erin go Bragh!

Great food! Fantastic service! Friendly, quick!everyone loves it!! Good music, wonderful drinks and menu! Go check it out. We’ve been to many Irish restaurants and pubs, even in Dublin, and this is one if the best!

This is a hidden gem. Had the homemade mushroom soup and club house on kaiser, not only was it delicious but reasonable priced.

I had the prime rib sandwich and truthfully I was disappointed. It looked so good, but there was way too much fat in there for my liking. And it didn't taste seasoned. The onion rings were decent, a little bland. There were several things that sounded really good on the menu, so I would definitely give them another try. Maybe just an off day. However, the smell in the bathroom was disgusting.

Loving the place. Great “local” pub. Food is good; Reuben Rolls, Irish Nachos, “ChipBurgers, Wings, Sandwiches. Shepherds Pie served in potato skins. Welcoming staff and owners.

I think that was the highlight of my dinner. Service was a little slow because our server was hanging out at the bar. It took a long time to leave. Fair selection of menu but its not an Irish menu. Our server was cool and friendly. It was a convenient located by a jazz festival that we went.

People that we just met in Union took us to Dowlings and it was a great idea. Very good Irish food along with more traditional items greeted us as we entered. The taste was only overdone by the pleasant staff, We definitely will return when we are in the area.

We came here based upon recommendations from friends and we have now been here twice. Both times were excellent and we highly recommend this place. The food is excellent, especially their wings, burgers and reuben egg rolls. The place is small with a pub atmosphere. The staff is very friendly as is the owner. If you want good food at reasonable prices, this is the place to go! We will definitely return!

Fun place! Great staff, good drinks, good food and festive crowd. We couldn’t have had a better time. Have now been here many times and it’s always great. Free parking in town lot. Best bar in Roselle Park.

I stopped here for a Sunday lunch, hankering for a Shepherds Pie. Service was a little slow, but the food came out hot and everything was correct. I started with their Reuben Rolls, which were like Chinese spring rolls, but with corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese inside, and were absolutely delicious. I followed with the Shepherds Pie, which was a modern interpretation being served in 3 halves of scooped out baked potatoes, and was rather good. The entree came with a soup, and the French Onion I had was all present and correct, except I though the broth should have been more beefy, but still good.

My wife and I went here for dinner based on a few of our friends recommendations. Close parking in the municipal lot and it's free! The place has a great ambiance and welcoming feel. Tastefully decorated with Irish history and humor. A clean restaurant. The bartender seemed to be a hoot with the patrons at the bar. We were seated in the open dining area and could watch a lot of choices from the tv screens. Wait staff was friendly & attentive. Looked like a great place to have a few and watch a game. Friendly respectful customers. Good vibe. Apps: We started with the wings and went with the garlic butter choice. A TOTAL KNOCKOUT! Cooked with a nice crunch, meaty, and SO FLAVORFUL! Went good with my Guinness. We also shared a romantic bowl of the potato soup which was excellent. Fresh, creamy and flavorful, not over salted. Dinner: my wife went with the Irish meatballs and I had the Salmon. We shared each other's dishes. That salmon was cooked to perfection and FRESH! Moist and fresh, light flavor. 20$ but worth every morsel. The meatballs were also excellent, not starchy but moist and good seasoning. Went well with the brown gravy and mashed potatoes. A decent portion for both. We skipped desert (limited) and went with an Irish coffee. Bottom line, Kathie and I will be back to explore more. EASILY 5 out of 5 stars for a Pub style restaurant!

New place off Westfield Ave in Roselle Park. Well worth the stop. The burgers are to die for. All menu items tasty and well done. The Reuben rolls on the app menu is delicious. The Bartenders and wait staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended this great neighborhood place.
