I was here on March 14, 2026. Having recently cleared the TEF Canada exam, I had set out with one goal- I will visit a French bakery and spend my day speaking French. I did go to a French bakery and ordered in French but they didn’t serve coffee. So, while walking through King St. I saw this Starbucks and entered craving coffee. I don’t know the name of the barista but I was stubborn speaking in French and to my surprise she responded in French. It made my day, I can hardly find francophones in Hamilton and finding one person made my day truly. After receiving my coffee, I asked another barista if I can speak with the femme who spoke in French with me for a minute and they obliged. I had a very nice conversation with a native speaker for more than a minute and she didn’t even rush me. Thank You gentle lady for making my day brighter! I appreciate your kind gesture🙏.

Cashier refused to substitute skim milk in the protein latte instead of the whole milk it is usually diluted with. This is the only Starbucks of ~10 others I’ve ordered from to refuse this. When asked, they mentioned that it was in the ‘rule book’ that they couldn’t make substitutions on the protein latte despite not one other Starbucks even mentioning this.
I’ve worked in hospitality and customer service for over a decade - I get it - the rules are the rules! But, at least be able to explain the ‘why’ behind what would otherwise be viewed as a useless rule. I pay a large premium at Starbucks to get a drink made my way and it’s frustrating to be told no without so much as an explanation. At least be able to tell me why - does it lower the boiling point of the milk too much preventing effective steaming? Does it not mix properly with the protein enhanced milk? Etc. < all things I know to be false since I’ve ordered it this way without issue 20+ times.
tl;dr I am fine that your associates are enforcing Starbucks standards but at least equip them with some more info as to why standards are set in the first place

Stan, Shane, Lauren, Olivia and all the others...dont know all the names...they ask me about my day, my kids hockey, just have really taken then time to get to know me, even when they are super busy. Means a lot to me!

Starbucks in Dundas ROCKS !! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE ENTIRE STAFF. A big shout out to Lauren, you remember all of our names and orders , that's pretty impressive young lady. To the store manager Denise , you're doing an amazing job selecting incredible people to work at this location , and everyone is super sweet and attentive to ALL of your customer needs. I watched you all over the Christmas holidays when it was crazy busy and you all worked perfectly together like a well-oiled machine, Denise you run the store like a tight ship and everyone gets served with a smile . Wishing you ALL the best in the new year.

I occasionally order on my way into work but most of the time we do office orders by mobile. Each time I come to pick up the staff is always so kind and friendly! Especially after getting bombarded by our orders. Thank you to everyone whose made my drinks for always getting my mocha perfect 😊

Worst experience ever the barista didn't have a name tag on my friend ordered a drink and the barista wouldn't recommend that and made her a total opposite drink that she didn't want I ordered a nice mango drink and she said if I want it blended double she's going to charge me for two drinks i just wanted it smooth. My drink was supposed to be Orange and yellow but it was pink andd I'll admit tasted good but was not my order

Consistently the worst Starbucks I’ve been to in terms of service. Lived in the neighbourhood 4+ years and we have yet to receive orders promptly, even when using the app. The fact they’re the only location in town must be the only reason this place operates. Save your money and go to Detour or Domestique.

Shout-out to Jess and the team at Starbucks for absolutely crushing it during the Cactus Festival! Despite the crazy Saturday rush, they were incredibly organized, kept the line moving fast, and stayed friendly and upbeat the whole time. Communication was clear and service was quick – total pros.

Best starbux in Dundas! Sam made perfect coffees for my buddy and me and explained what happened to the Java chip frap (no longer on the menu - a sordid history). She got me a water as well because I was also thirsty for water. Thanks Sam 😄

I had a wonderful experience at this Starbucks, thanks to the exceptional service from Sam. I had a bit of an accident that resulted in a spill, and not only was the mess cleaned up quickly, but it was done with genuine kindness and understanding. Sam went above and beyond—not only making sure I was okay but also insisting on replacing my order without hesitation. It’s rare to encounter that level of care and customer service. Thank you, Sam, for turning an awkward moment into a reminder of how great people can be!
