Great place for breakfast, a local time capsule

It's a diner plain and simple. I don't need to prove the authenticity of their food or decor. If you don't check it out, you're missing out.

Was a nice stop for a simple diner meal - came for the atmosphere and wanting that diner experience and Knowles was a great stop on a rainy day. Had a classic BLT and fries. The gravy wasn’t great but the blueberry milkshake was a nice surprise. The prices were surprisingly affordable- like they haven’t changed the prices in years.

great place to eat. Anybody complaining came in there with an aditude looking for something to cry about...like the service dog thing.

Used to come here as a kid with my grandma, wonderful atmosphere, reminds me of old malts shops you see in photos or pop tates from riverdale/archie comics

Knowles is a quaint restaurant that makes you think you are back in 1958. Has both booths and a lunch counter complete with stools. Friendly staff and good food, nothing fancy. Old photos of local teams and town folk. Worth the visit. Usually not open late, mainly breakfast and lunch.

awful service slow service food was horrible place is filthy filler burgers cold food and none of the servers wash hands or even attempt to follow health rules handle dirty plates , money then your food best thing would be for this place is to close i hope we or no one gets sick because it is inevitable some one will get seriously ill there

Note: Cash only! Diner breakfast as exactly as expected. Service accurate, but dropped bill having never offered a coffee refill - many tables still open. :| Maybe I seemed to be in a rush? Not accessible (probably designated as heritage building). One step up inside building. Two gendered single stall washrooms. Both very tiny. No change table.

where does on start.. we stopped in at Dunnville for the parade and decided to have breakfast seeing this place with all day breakfast we went in only one server and not to many people in so wait time was satisfactory but when the food arrived the only hot item was the plate the food itself was warm to cold. Week later we decided to give them a second chance.. {A big mistake} this time there was 2 servers and after ordering our breakfast we had to wait a totally unexceptionable 40 minutes and once again the plates were warm at best and the food was cold.. the other thing that we noticed was the servers were quick with the coffee and refills however watching both of them as they cleared table and then collecting the cutlery and taking them back to the kitchen area then coming back to clean talks and at no time did we see them washing there hands the other totally unacceptable thing was the server delivering the customers orders the carried two main dish's on large plated while the toast on small plate were carried on top of the other food plates so the bottoms of the small plates were resting on the food on the large plates ever unhygienic since those small plates were sitting on the counter waiting for the servers to pick them up..On closing would we ever go there again I don't think so the place left us with a lot to desire in hygiene and cleanliness.
